Golf Special Report: Betting Odds- Andalucia Valderrama Masters 2010 (Part 1)
Very soon the game of elites will have a new World Number One on the coming Sunday and by all positives, he will be a European. To clarify it further, the real tournament will be between England vs. Germany.
The Andalucia Valderrama Masters will kick off tomorrow at Club de Golf Valderrama to seal the year end with a European tour event. The tournament carrying a massive purse of €3000000 will decide the new reigning king who will be seated on the top of the
Official World Golf Ranking.
The battle will be between the Germany's Martin Kaymer and England’s Lee Westwood. According to the media reports, Kaymer is having an edge of fitness, course and form over Westwood; therefore, he will win the title. The 25
–year-old is three times winner on the European tour, he was the part of the winning side of the Ryder Cup and only three weeks back he declared a victory at Dunhill Links Championship.
Despite being a strong player, his name is not in the betting odds for the top-two positions. Here is the betting preview of the tournament, which will start on Thursday, 27th October, 2010.
Graeme McDowell
The player who hails from Northern Ireland is the best possible candidate for the top of the leader board. The reason behind this notion is the stats that pose him as the closest pursuer for the Race to Dubai.
Secondly, he has an edge of being on the course in which he enjoys a very strong form. The 7000-yard Robert Trent Jones design has witnessed some serious action in the past. In 2008, Volvo Masters, Graeme was in the lead in the first round and by the end
of the fourth, he was tied at the 8th spot.
McDowell enjoys the strength of Green Hits in Regulations: he is ranked at the third place in this year. It is GIR, which will be required to defeat the course. According to the stats of GIR, McDowell finished in top 10s in four appearances on this course.
Moreover, he finished 8th in 2008, 4th in 2007 and seized two top 25 finishes in years before.
Another factor that might add a kick to his strengths will be the rest, which he has been taking after returning back from Dunhill Links. Mental fitness plays an equal part in achieving the desired goal with ease. The Irish was seen at the PGA grand slam,
but that was a two day session, which did not ask for fatigue so considering it part of rest won’t be bad definition.
G-Mac won the US Open in the starting of this season. The victory made him more knowledgeable and hence more confident. The after effects of the victory were seen in the entire season including the Celtic manor where he competed for the Ryder Cup.
To top it off, Valderrama is similar to Celtic Manor and Pebble Beach; all three are par-71.This deduces the notion that Mc Dowell won’t have a problem in handling the course as he did a fair job in conquering the other two. Five of McDowell's six victories
have come on par-71 courses; therefore, possibilities are that the Irish will be the one holding a trophy on the coming Sunday.
This is it for the first half of the betting preview for the top 2 positions of Andalucia Valderrama Masters, which will be staged at Club de Golf Valderrama, Spain. The venue will be greeting a powerful field of top 50 players in the Official World Golf
Ranking. This means that some serious competition will be witnessed on the par-71 course and that in return will decide the top of the world ranking. Sunday 30th has been predicted for the big change as Tiger Woods will be replaced by either Lee
Westwood or Martin Kaymer, but again equal possibilities are that both the players won’t fall in the contention.
