Golf Special Report: Colin Montgomerie survived the accident
Colin Montgomerie survived a car accident on Thursday morning.
11.30 am a report of car crash reached the Strathclyde Police station and they sent two ambulances and a fire brigade to handle the situation. However, when the both the service providers reached the A80 at Moodiesburn, they found out that one of the car
owners included the 47-year-old Ryder Captain as well.
The accident took place between a van, a lorry and two cars, but no one was injured except for minor injuries. None of the car crashed victims required a hospitalization. The former world number two, was uninjured, but he was badly shaken by the shock. The
sources close to the golfer told the press that Montgomerie would be needing a shock therapist, rest he was perfectly fine.
The same news was confirmed from the Strathclyde Police and the Scottish Ambulance Service. Spokes personals from both the sides told the same story that no one got injured during the collision. Although Monty’s was kicked in the rear by the van, but it
did not cause any massive damage. The fire brigade reached the scenario to clear the road.
The spokesman for Scottish Ambulance Service quoted, "Three ambulances were sent to the scene but no-one required hospitalisation. There were minor and superficial injuries."
On the other hand, the spokeswoman for Strathclyde Police said, "Police received a report of a crash on the A80 at Moodiesburn at around 11.30am today. It does not look as though anyone is seriously injured."
On the whole, the striker is perfectly fine and no delay is expected in his next appearance. Montgomerie was in Malaysia last weekend for the Iskandar Johor Open where he seized the 11th place. He improved considerably from his 41st
finish in the Dunhill Links Championship in Scotland. The 47-year-old has been absent from competitive golf since 45 weeks and that was the reason behind his faltering game. However, he has picked up on his self and is back in action. The champ is eyeing the
next Ryder Cup as a player. Therefore, it won’t be long when the fans will see him teeing off in Illinois.
