Golf Special Report: For the golfers who follow their heart- J.B. Holmes and Annika Sorenstam.
J.B Holmes is said to be living the life of what a pure golfer would dream about. Annika Sorenstam is seen a notch above and has lived the dream. She says that she found the life after waking up even better.
The Forsgate Foundation Charity Golf Classic started on Monday this week. It was a two day event which included both of these esteemed golfers highlighting the event. The event started in the evening to cater one live and one silent auction at the Country
Club ending on Tuesday.
The event saw both Sorenstam and Holmes mingling with the guests and the charity participants, while the foursome were seen playing on Tuesday sunup. After the game, the duo was seen in mid afternoon participating at the skills exhibition. Their presence
wasn’t subdued even after the rain drops that sprinkled the grounds. Other than that, Sorenstam and Holmes also played an 18-hole skins game.
One must learn the art of prioritising what’s coming. You may want to follow what’s your passion one day but the other day you might favour what’s necessary.
According to Holmes, he does charities very often. He says that out of all the charities that are carried out, some of them are carried out in his hometown. This blessed professional has been a part of the Ryder Cup 2 years ago and ranked number 25 on the
PGA money list 2010. His earnings amount to 1.3 Million dollars in the PGA money index.
The twenty eight year old says that he has been much sanctified and feels it nice to give back what he earned.
This is a Twenty eight year old living the life he always wanted to. Then there is the thirty nine year old who has already lived this dream. Sorenstam will be turning forty next week and has retired 18 months ago. She is considered one of the greatest female
golfers to have ever lived because of her career record.
When she was asked about the event, she said that “it’s a given”. The thirty nine year old feels privileged about giving back to the society and says that she is in a stage of her life where she knows her mind would never go against it.
Sorenstam did what she feels right, but she also did what was right. After the 18 months of her retirement, Sorenstam is still finding her life rather fulfilling. She says that her leaving the passionate life of golf has been acceptable till now and labelled
it as good.
Sorenstam has never looked back to the life she lived before and has learned to move on. Along with her husband, the retired golfer has been able to manage a number of business ventures. The thirty nine year old, other than holding the ANNIKA Foundation,
is the holder of her very own ANNIKA brand of businesses. Sorenstam holds a golf academy, golf course design, high-end wines, a financial group, a clothing line as well as a fragrance line. Her foundation was established in 2007 which is non-profit in nature.
Sorenstam says that even though her golf-life has been busy, her after-golf-life has been a different kind of busier. She has won a total of 72 LPGA Tournaments and has been able to collect a one shot 59. The thirty nine year old joined the LPGA hall of
fame seven years ago.
Sorenstam says that she had realized there were things outside golf. Even though her pre-retirement life has been obsessive, regimented and strict, she still wishes she could turn back the time for a while and enjoy a little more.
Living what’s coming your way and living where you want to go are two different things. Out of millions of golfers, J.B. Holmes and Annika Sorenstam have proved to follow what their hearts tells them.
