Golf Special Report: Player profiles of Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open's stars
Justin Timberlake has some serious love for golf. First, he got himself a mini golf course at his Florida mansion and then he bought an eco- friendly golf course. Now he is funding the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open.
The event carrying a purse of $4.3 million will kick off on Thursday, October 21st and it will stretch all the way to the weekend (Sunday, October 24, 2010) at TPC Summerlin, Las Vegas, Nevada.
Defending champion Martin Laird will be teeing off to protect his title. Last year he pulled on the hat of victory with the help of two eagles and 23 birdies in the four day session. He defeated Chad Campbell in the playoff. Chad was ranked first in the
green hits in regulation apart from two eagles and 21 birdies, which he picked on his way to the second spot. Third on the leader board was George Mc Neill with 23 birdies.
These were the top three players from the last year, however, who will the title this time is a question that can be answered with the player profiles who will be teeing off on Thursday in overcast weather conditions.
Nick Watney
He was fourth on the Tour Championship, 25th in GIR and sixth in birdie average. Although he does not holds an outstanding record on the course, but he carded a 63 in the opening round in 2008, which predicts that he has his chances on stake.
Rickie Folwer
TPC Summerlin is his home ground; he grew up playing on it.  He finished in the seventh place last year, with T61 position in GIR in greens and fifth in putting. Moreover, he is enjoying a very strong form, which proceeds with the Ryder Cup and fourth spot
finish at the Frys.com Open.
 Hunter Mahan
Like Fowler, he too was a part of the 2010 Ryder Cup in which he gave an appreciable performance. In last two visits, he finished in the top 25s, including a T14 finish last year. Moreover, his stats showed top 8th finish in greens hit and Top
2nd in birdies. According to the experts, the player needs to focus on his iron play to win.
Chad Campbell
He was the last year runner-up, who topped the charts with edge in green hits in regulations and putting. He was ranked eighth in putting, whereas, first in GIR. In 2008, he was tied for the third spot with the help of four eagles. His current form in regards
with the Frys.com Open shows a finish at 13th spot along with top 5 in GIR and top 3 in birdies.
Charley Hoffman
He was brilliant on the Tour Championship with a top sixth finish on the leader board and was ranked in top five in GIR. Moreover, he has three top 15s in four visits to the same venue, which indicates his fair understanding of the course.
 D.J. Trahan
He was on the edge to conquer this course in 2007, but failed. In 2009, he finished in the top seventh spot with the help of three eagles.  Trahan is carrying a strong form with a finish at top three in the Viking Classic.  He is ranked as 5th in greens
in regulation and 26th in birdie average.
Charles Howell  III
He took a week off after surging to top sixth spot in the McGladrey Classic, which took place a week ago. He recorded a bogey-free round of 62, which itself was an achievement. As regards to this event, he holds a record of five top 20s, including a T10
in 2008.
This is it for the profiles of the players, who will be teeing off on 21st of this month to win the prize money of $756,000. Who will win the title? Will that be Folwer owing to his perfect form or will that be Mahan who has a powerful iron play?
