Golf Special edition, Victoria Golf Club the venue for Portugal Masters (part 2)
For the ones who have read the first half of the preview “Victoria Golf Club the venue for Portugal Masters”, here is the second part.
Hole #10
Yet another par-4 hole, but with slight difficulty. The strategy to deal with this hole is to aim for a shot that lands left of the centre. Then, take the second shot with a wedge and aim for the flag. Make sure the ball lands within 3 feet of the pin, or
it will roll into the bunkers on both sides of the greens.
Hole #11
This is the most beautiful part of the back nine. The length is long, but it isn’t difficult to attain the green. Aim for a long tee shot and avoid using a wood at all cost. The next shot will be a duck shot if the player uses a wedge and lifts the ball
into the air to make a birdie.
Hole #12
Stretched on 390 meters, this par-4 hole is a wonderful delight for the long hitters. The first shot should be aimed with a driver and if it reaches the hill, then the next shot should be with an iron. However, the bunkers on the left should be kept in consideration
as a long miscalculated shot can plunge into the sand bunker to card a bogey on the scorecard.
Hole #13
Considering its full length, a player should utilize the field as a par 5. A long tee shot will come in handy. As for the next shot, lot of precision is required.  Take a left to right shot, but make sure that the ball does not drift too much towards the
left as a sharp cut can land the ball into the green side bunker.
Hole #14
Although, it is a par-3, it is the most difficult hole of the course. The strategy to reach the green is to aim the first shot to the left of the tee, flying over the bunkers in between. Once the bunkers are covered, the green can be achieved with a putter.
However, if someone misses the green which is on a very small patch of land, then achieving the par is impossible.
Hole #15
This par-4 is stretched on 294- meters, which means that it is quite short for a par-4. Take a perfect straight tee shot and aim for the right of the center for the next shot, use a 4 iron and cut the shot towards the right.
Hole #16
Stretched on 178 meters, this par-3 hole can be carded with a birdie, if a 3 wood is used to make a tee shot. The second shot should be made with a wedge and make sure the green is not missed or else a big double bogey will await the golfer.
 Hole #17
It is the second last, par-5 hole of the course and it can be achieved with 3 shots. The best line for the tee shot is right of the fairway bunker and the second shot should be aimed to the left side of the fairway to enable the third shot to the green for
a par. The club preferred here is an iron.
Hole #18
It is the last par five of the back nine and an excellent land mass for the long hitters. The strategy to reach the green in three shots is to avoid the fairway traps and drive the ball in the centre of the fairway. The next shot should be aimed towards
the right of the green with a 3 iron and the last stride should be a slight touch of the putter, to see the ball straight into the hole.
This is it for the second half of the preview of the venue that will be hosting the Portugal Masters in the upcoming week.
