Golf Special edition: Phuket Country Club Old Course (Part2)
For those who read the first half review of the Phuket Country Club Old Course and its first eight holes, here is the second half.
 Hole 9
This is the second par 5 of the course with a   long, right doglegged tee. However, in saving the ball from the right, the ball might fall a little towards the left. Here, the trees will welcome the lost shot. Moving towards the fairway which apparently
seems wide and open, but it has a series bunkers ready to capture the ball. However, trouble sublimes from here, but there are couple of bunkers surrounding the green, which means it won’t be easy to defeat this hole.
Hole 10
This is the signature hole of the course and it runs around a huge water source. As a record, only the long-hitters succeed here. However, with a long shot, driving accuracy is also required as the landing area for a regulation drive has water in the front
and several bunkers beyond. A little tilt towards the right will push the ball into the water hazard. Coming towards the green, the shot is comparatively easier, but for that as a mid iron is required to roll the ball over a small bay, crossing the fairway
and the bunker which lies right in front of the green.
Hole 11
This is yet another elevated tee with an open fairway and a dogleg towards the left. There is a small water hazard running diagonally in the fairway originating from the right. If the player gets to save the ball from water then a massive bunker is waiting
on the left. The pin is right next to the bunker.
Hole 12
It is by far the easiest par four of the course, as the flag is easily seen from here. Standing on the tee, the player will be able to see a water hazard and long palms. Far off to the left, there is a queue of trees marking the edge of the fairway.
Hole 13
Thirteenth is a par four hole, with an open fairway. Trouble does not show until the green arrives. There is a ridge on the left and water on the right with every bit of the green is covered with bunkers.
Hole 14
This is a straight par three with clusters of trees intruding the fairway on the right and heavy vegetation on the left. The only way to reach the green is a straight shot.
Hole 15
The third hardest hole on the course has out of bounds surrounding the left and right side of the fairway. To make it worse there are couple of trees on the landing area which might result into a bogey. Although, a along straight shot is required here but due
to lack of accuracy, the ball can fall into the bunkers at the right and the left.
Hole 16
This hole is considered as the most beautiful hole of the course. It has an elevated tee, with water hazard on the left, and a ridge on the right. Standing on the fairway, one will see a valley at the back, green on the left and water on the right.
Hole 17
It’s not a hole; it is an island of green. The par three is yet another mesmerizing beauty with Pines in the front and back of the green. Coming to the putting surface, although it is sizeable but hitting a putt from here is quite a challenge because of
the undulations.
Hole 18
This is the last par five of the course. The player will see long Pines on the right, as the hole doglegs. There is a water source on the left, but it won’t come into play except for a wild shot. A small water patch runs diagonally cutting the fairway, just
around the dogleg corner. The hole goes uphill towards the green  but  this does not means  a  power shot with an iron will do the job as there is a  huge  tree  on the left, which might block the path of the player in case of a stray shot.
