Golf: Tiger Woods ends difficult round on Old Course
Tiger Woods made his way to the 17th hole but through great difficulties. He almost eagled at the 18th hole but failed and settled with 73.
Tiger Woods’ was happy with his game that leaves him eight shots behind Louis Oosthuizen, who is currently leading the game at 12 under. He added a second round of 73 to his opening at 67, 4 under par. The worlds no 1 wanted a birdie -2 but had to settle for birdie -3. He tried shooting a 20-feet eagle but because of the strong winds, the eagle settled as a birdie. Right after the attempt the tournament was suspended for a 65 min break.
According to Tiger Woods, it was very difficult out on the course. The ball was oscillating on the fairways. Due to the harshness of the weather, Tiger backed off many times, thinking the ball might move but it was not moving. It just kept on oscillating.
Tiger Woods started with his new Nike putter in very strong winds. The result was that that he had two bogeys in the start. Sixty-five minutes after starting when he, Justin Rose and Camilo Villegas were playing the first hole, the horn was played.
Tiger Woods’s judgment calculated that the 65-minute delay would give him a break and hopefully when he came out he will be face pleasant weather. Unfortunately, this was not the case.

It was a tough day for each and every one on the old course as the weather was in no mood to forgive any one.
Tiger Woods, is one player who has won the last two British Opens held at St. Andrews. When he was asked regarding his performance at the third round at Muirfield in 2002, where he shot 81. He answered that it could not be compared, as that particular day the weather was wet as well.
"(Oosthuizen) got it 16 holes downwind,” Woods said. "We didn’t quite get that out there.  That’s just the way it goes.  If you get a good break you have to capitalize on it.  He certainly did.  For everyone else, we had to grind it out, gut it out.  You can have good shots and end up in bad shots, and hit some bad shots and end up in awful spots; it’s just that kind of day”.
Tiger Woods is expecting some consistency through the week, especially on the greens. Although he believes he has been improving lately as compared to his past performances in the season. To make this victory certain he even switched to the Nike Method putter.
Overall, Tiger Woods hit the ball well today with lots of long putts. Although the lag putts were very difficult to achieve in weather conditions like these as the ball was only oscillating rather than moving. The putter seemed as if it was dancing all over the place especially on the backswing.

For now Tiger Woods is heading towards a weekend after which he will be ready for a chase. Louis Oosthuizen and Mark Calcavecchia have five shots off the lead.
Let’s see what happens next.
