Golf: Tom Davidson to host a seminar at PGA Merchandise Show
The director of golf at the Circling Raven Golf Club, Tom Davidson will host a conference named “Planning Your Merchandising Business Retail” at the 58th Professional Golfers Association Merchandise Show in Florida.
The golf course, which Davidson will represent, is a unique layout with mixture of wetlands, grasslands and woodlands. Moreover, it has ample wild life residing on the greens such as elk, deer, black bear etc.
The three-day presentation will begin on Thursday, 27 January, 2011 at the Orange County Convention Centre. During the presentation, Davidson will give an overview of how to represent a golf pro shop, attract customers and promote the business in the vicinity.
Davidson is one of the many presenters who will take part in the PGA Show. The merchandise show will serve as a platform for the manufacturers, suppliers and investors to interact and do business.
Confirming his appearance at the PGA Merchandise Show, Davidson said, “Following some best practices in retail can make the difference between a profitable golf shop and one which wishes it were profitable. The most crucial element in the plan at a resort
facility is knowing your customers and creating an environment that stimulates excitement, comfort, and curiosity.”
Apart from holding a seminar, Davidson would accept the “Merchandiser of the Year” award on behalf of his club. Every year, the PGA gives the souvenir to a club for providing the best facility.
The purpose of this award is to salute the PGA Professionals or clubs who have set a benchmark as merchandisers in the promotion of the sport. PGA focuses on the best display of pro shop, best sports facility, stable financial results and constant learning
of staff at the club before deciding the winner of the award.
Circling Raven has been bestowed with the honour four times before as well. Moreover, it has the privilege of being the first club from the Northwest to be honoured.
Tom Davidson will receive the award and demonstrate the participants of the show what does it take to become an outstanding merchandiser.
