Golf Update: 2010 Teacher of the Year award goes to Jim Empey
Jim Empey has been awarded the title of 2010 Teacher of the Year by the Rocky Mountain Section PGA.
It seems like a one-man show. The American is working in the Advisory Board for Cleveland Golf and Srixon. Moreover, he holds the designation of PGA Director of Instruction at Quail Hollow Golf Club in Boise, Idaho.
He committed his entire livelihood to teach golf across the country ever since he resigned from the PGA tour. His affiliation with Back Tee Sports helped him fulfil his mission. Back Tee Sports primary agenda is based on corporate golf outings, which stretch
on 36-72 hours across the state. This is why he gave lectures at The Tournament Players Club, Scottsdale, Arizona; Reynolds Plantation, Greensboro, Georgia; Pinehurst (North Carolina) Resort; Moon Palace Resort in Cancun, Mexico; Sanctuary Golf Club, Castle
Pines, Colorado; and Bandon Oregon Dunes Resort.
Moreover, he has written several papers on Golf that were published in the PGA Magazine. He also worked on a 10-min instructional video, which was aired on the Golf Channel. Owing to the contribution he did for the sports, Golf Digest listed his name in
the ‘Best 3 Teachers in the state of Idaho’ and Golf Magazine tagged him as the ‘Top Golf Instructors in the Northwest U.S.’
His most recent achievement is the award, which PGA Tour bestowed on him on Thursday morning in California. The award is given to a professional, who delivers outstanding services for the sports. The contributions may include published papers, teaching,
and promotion of sports.
Empey has been recognised on behalf of his contributions for the fourth time. He got the same award in 2002, 2004 and 2008. He has also received the RMSPGA Player of the Year award two years back and continues to work in the same field to date. He will be
honoured with the award during the annual meeting of RMSPGA.
Professionals like Jim Empey have taken golf where it stands today. It is because of people like Empey that we see young blood coming up with utmost talent. The American has been nominated as 2010 Teacher of the Year by the Rocky Mountain Section PGA.
