Golf Update: Brendan Jones at the top, Michael Hendry eighth and Ryo Ishikawa's hole-in-one at The Panasonic open 2010.
The Panasonic open ended on the Sunday of 26th of September with rain shortening its round. The open finished off with Brendan Jones on the top of the boards with a 66, Michael Hendry finishing off at the eighth place and Ryo Ishikawa attaining
a marvellous hole-in-one. The round was contracted to 54 holes only because the Thursdays play was cancelled due to rain and winds, heavy in nature.
Michael Hendry finished off at the eighth place and attained one more top ten finish in the Asia-Pacific Open. The New Zealander had a final round of 71 with an even-par in cards in the rain-shortened event. He had two shots off the pace and finished with
a total score of par 210. He entered the Open with his earlier win this year at the Fiji Open and played a two under in the Co-sanctioned tournament.
Hendry played a good game and collected a dollar amount of NZ 48,000 in return of his efforts. After his high-quality finish at the Panasonic open, the New Zealander will now focus on the upcoming Port Taranaki Open. Hendry will be seen defending his title
on this open which is a part of the 2010 Charles Tour starting this Thursday.
The man from Australia concluded his game with a 5, his total score at the end of the round was a 207 with 6 under par. The event was held at the Rokko Kokusai Golf Club and had a total purse of $ 350,000. Jones’ win from the Panasonic Open is placed as
his first on the Asian Tour, while on the Japan Golf Tour, this was his 9th. The tournament was backed up by the Asian and Japan Tours.
The second round of the Panasonic Open was led by Ryuichi Oda. On the next round, however, Oda dropped to the second place at a minus 5. His second place has his 2nd straight under 70 as the main reason.
The 2009 winner also appeared at the Open and attained the third place. Daisuke Maruyama carded a total of 69 due to the 2 under shot but he wasn’t the only one in the third place. Sushi Ishigaki and Kyung-tae Kim who stood at 68 and 69 also shared the 3rd
place with Maruyama. This position held a 209 with 4 under.
The Asian Tour’s leading Money winner, Seung-yul Noh played a satisfactory even par 71. He was one of those players who were at the minus two and shared the eighth.
Ryo Ishikawa was struggling a bit at the final round of the event but still managed an amazing hole-in-one. The Japanese teenager managed to card a mere 73 obviously 2 over and tied at the 13th place. With holding a 212 in hands, Ishikawa slipped
to the thirteenth place at the last round.
On the first nine hole, Ishikawa achieved consistent pars which basically started after the tenth hole. He was seen dropping his first shot of the day at the beginning of the outward nine. Ishikawa says that the conditions of the course were very tough given
the scores at the leader board and even though the circumstances were highly difficult, he did manage to play a good game in the end.
Ishikawa carded an amazing hole-in-one at the JGTO Tour with the help of a 7-iron. This startling shot was played at the par 3 6th hole, which has a yardage of 187. According to Ishikawa, the surprising hole-in-one had a surprising reaction on
him since he didn’t react much. Although Ishikawa wasn’t jumping up and down in the air, but he did manage to raise both of his arms high into the air and give a thumbs up to the television cameras while smiling. Fair enough.
