Golf Update: CVS/pharmacy LPGA Challenge- Nocera and Recari takes the midway lead
CVS/pharmacy LPGA Challenge has made its way into the third round at the Black hawk Country Club in California. Gwladys Nocera and Beatriz Recari have surged into club house lead with identical scores in both rounds.
Strange things are happening on the LPGA tour. First these two ladies enter the tournament with no victory on the US tour. Then, they recorded a similar score of 68 in the first round followed by a 66. Guess what will happen if both of them fall in the playoff?
Nocera is eyeing her debut victory at the US tour. Thereby she says that she is concentrating on her game. She told this to the press who wanted to know the secret behind her sudden change. She said,
“I'm not looking at what everybody else is doing, I just concentrate on my game. I made a couple of putts on 6, 7, 8 and 9 and that helped me to stay concentrated and focused on my game."
The 35-year-old fired a round of seven birdies against one bogey to underline the score at 10-under- 134. She was joined by a Spanish beauty Beatriz Recari. The 23-year-old playing teed off late, but surprised the rest of the field with an eagle and five
birdies in the back nine. One stroke behind was yet another beauty, Amy Hung.
Next on the list was a group of four players, who were one shot behind. These ladies were; Wendy Ward (71), IIhee Lee (67), Stacy Lewis (67) and Michele Redman (69).
Brittany Lincicome who shot a 61 in the first round could not maintain her momentum and slipped to the eight spot after firing a 76.She was followed by Katherine Hull at an aggregate of six-under.
The beautiful Recari was very happy with her game, although she was nervous, but she did not let it hamper her performance. Speaking to the press, Recari said, "I had a very good mojo from yesterday, I was playing very well, leaving it close to the pins.
It just seemed that the putts weren't dropping so I said, 'I just have to be calm. There are plenty of holes out there and plenty of possibilities.”
The 23-year-old stated the round with sheer balance, but she could not manage to complete the front nine with an under-par score. However, on her way to the closing holes, she picked up five power shots that included a magnificent eagle at the par-5, 475-yard
11th hole.  The Spaniard would have overtaken Nocera, but she missed a birdie putt on the last hole of 6,185-yard Blackhawk Country Club.
As for Norcera, she was calm and confident, yet she was not eyeing something extraordinary. She said that she did not possess very high expectations for herself; therefore, she will be ready for the final result that will pour in on Sunday. The 10-time winner
on the European Tour has been winless on the LPGA tour that is why she is lacking the spirit.
On the other hand, the leading lady (Lincicome) from the first round was depressed with her game in the second. She was seen struggling with her driver all day long. Three time LPGA title winner seemed to be out of luck as her shots were finding trouble
themselves.  First she bogeyed two holes in the back nine and then she hit her tee shot into the sand.
Lincicome told the press, “I knew today wasn't going to be easy but I didn't think it was going to be that hard," "I was just really nervous. I didn't really know how to follow up what I did yesterday. I shouldn't have checked any messages on my phone."
Paula Creamer shot a round of 69 after a terrible 73 on Thursday. She shared the 27th spot at 142. Cristie Kerr, who needs to finish second to seize the number one rank in the world, is seven shots behind the leader. She carded a score of 68 that included
an eagle on No. 11.
