Golf Update: Martin Hall steps into a TV show as a host
Martin Hall the director of instruction at Ibis Golf & Country Club in West Palm Beach, Florida will be hosting a show on Golf Channel and that is final.
The Golf Channel conducted a program in which they were looking for the most eligible candidate for the job. After 3-tier assessment, Hall was selected to host the show, ‘12 Nights at the Academy’. The program will start on 25th January for 30
minutes on weekly basis.
By the sound of the name, one can guess that the program will be an instructional series in which participants will be taught the skills and techniques required for golf. This is why a professional was required for the job.
Out of curiosity, a question comes to mind that what was so special about Martin Hall that he was preferred over final two finalists. The answer to this question stretches on 30 years of his teaching career. Hall won the title of PGA of America's Teacher
of the Year and finished 10th in Golf Digest's yearly rankings of the golf top 50 teachers in 2008. That was not the first time, in fact according to a record, ever since the magazine started the rankings; Hall had always been part of the list.
Moreover, he served as a coach to Morgan Pressel for five years and made sure that she became the youngest player on the LPGA to win.
Commenting on the selection Hall said that he was delighted for making it to the top and was looking forward to transfer the knowledge he possessed.
He said, “I've been influenced by so many sources, Hall of Fame players, and teachers. I am really looking forward to sharing things I've learned from players like Jack Nicklaus and Tom Watson and teachers like Bob Toski, Jim Flick and Chuck Cook. I've
got some interesting stories from some interesting sources, and I'm glad to pass them on."
Martin Hall will be hosting an instructional series on golf by the name of 12 Nights at the Academy. The Golf Channel has chosen the instructor, now they require participants and for that, Tiger Woods will be an excellent choice. After all, he needs to be
retrained in golf after a terrible season.
