Golf Update: Matt Kuchar wins the title at the Barclays golf tournament, after Martin Laird’s clumsy mistake
Matt Kuchar firmly grasped the victory at the Barclay’s golf championship, after Martin Laird’s clumsy mistake. The thirty two year old American had a chance to clutch the victory title and he did it successfully.
It was a very lucky day for the American ace golfer, as he was able to win the PGA tour championship in a very dramatic way. It was open and a good chance for the Scottish Martin Laird to settle the brawl in a successful manner by shooting the ball into the hole from less than 25 feet distance from the flag. Laird was unfortunate in making that, as his shot resulted unsuccessful and it made a paved way for the American to set a thrashing victory to carry the trophy of Barclay PGA championship. Despite of performing remarkably and shooting two perfect shots before that it came out to be not as Laird’s day. The American was looking for his perfect chance and he showed all his class and perfection by hitting a seven-iron approach shot to clinch the victory and a huge amount of 1.3 million dollar check.
It is a very special victory for the thirty two year American golfer, as he is now able to participate in the prestigious Ryder Cup. The lapse of Laird at the end of PGA Barclay’s championship has certainly introduced Kuchar to a series of unprecedented successes. After winning the title, Kuchar seemed truly happy and excited; he told the media that he is very happy with the way everything came out for him. He said that it was a great day for him, as he was able to get what he desired for. While talking about his winning shot he said that he was aiming with perfection and sheer determination, that is how that shot came out fantastic and match winning.
While talking about the level of the competition between him and his rivals in the championship, Kuchar expressed his views and said that he has loved each and every moment of playing here and it has came up with the best results for him. He said that he was very confident that he can do it and now finally he can relax by taking the trophy to home. When at one side it was the best and happiest time for the American winner Matt Kuchar, it has also left the Scot Martin Laird with despair and frustration on the other side. Laird seemed very unhappy about his hard luck after fighting to the final stage level-par 71.
The Scottish Martin Laird looked very disappointed and expressed his views in the state of despair. He said that he was not looking for such an ending to the tournament, as he was hoping to win and he had worked hard as well. He added that everything went wrong and he is not happy with the way everything went.
The final day of the play at Ridgewood Country Club was also not a bad day for the world number 1 and legendary golfer Tiger Woods. It was a good day for him, as he moved his way steadily finishing a tie for twelfth after a four-under 67. After the finish, Woods looked quite confident about his performance and told the media that he is very well aware of the fact that he is struggling with his playing form but this event has given him a lot of confidence to experiment and practice shots to improve his game. He added that the week was a pretty good week for him, as he was able to display some good knocks. After the tournament, Woods has moved into the top 100 in the playoff standings which has given him enough confidence to get selected in the Ryder Cup team of Corey Pavin, which will be held in October this year.
