Golf Update: Molinari wins the HSBC Championship in China
The Italian star golfer Francesco Molinari has won the HSBC Champions golf event, which was held in Shanghai China.  In the tournament, the Italian ace was strongly challenged by the current world number one British veteran golfer Lee Westwood. But Molinari
held his nerve quite well and kept his lead over the point’s table till the end of the day.
Before entering into the final day of the event, Francesco Molinari had a lead of one shot over his arch rival Lee Westwood. Later the twenty eight year old Italian retained his lead by a remarkable nineteen under par and snatched the lucrative title of
HSBC golf championship.
On the other hand, the Great Britain’s duo Richie Ramsay and Luke Donald shared the third spot by finishing the day for nine under par.
The day was not very encouraging for the former world number one American golfing legend Tiger Woods, as he was not able to perform according to his plans and managed to finish the day at the sixth spot with the thirty three years old Briton Paul Casey.
After the final day’s play the thirty four years old American golfing veteran Tiger Woods expressed his thoughts and feelings pretty confidently and told the media that his performance was better than before and so far he is pretty satisfied with the way
he has played on the final day. The current world number two said that he was hitting the ball well, however, luck was not with him and he has no regrets what so ever.
It is to be noticed that the current world number two Tiger Woods was aiming to usurp the world number one rank back from the current world champ Lee Westwood before coming to China for the HSBC golf event. Now it seems that Tiger should work a bit more
to improve his game to challenge Westwood. Not only Woods but the current world number three Martin Kaymer and the American veteran Phil Mickelson were also in the struggle to snatch the world number one title.
The thirty seven years old British golfing veteran Lee Westwood also seemed pretty satisfied with his performance. The Englishman said that the final day’s play was a bit disappointing for him. He added and said that he was not very lucky but still happy
with the way everything has happened in the tournament.
The world number one told the media about his performance on the final day of the tournament and said that his performance was not up to the mark as he played some bad shots as well. He added that so far, he is quite happy and he knows that he has played
well and his world ranking is a solid proof of his consistent good performance.
Lee Westwood said that the putt on the sixteenth was truly remarkable for him. The performance of the Englishman Lee Westwood was no doubt a brilliant one as the Briton has been suffering from calf injury and the HSBC tournament was his first tournament
after playing in the Ryder Cup at Celtic Manor.
On the other hand, the winner of the HSBC golf event, Francesco Molinari expressed his thoughts pretty excitedly and told the media that it was a great tournament for him and he has performed splendidly well as he was challenged by the world’s finest players
of golf.
The twenty eight year old Italian ace said that he is very happy with the way he has played. Molinari added that Westwood is a great player and beating him in a golf event is no doubt special to him. He continued and said that he was strongly challenged
by the world number one Lee but he kept his nerve and displayed the best of his game to win the title.
