Rain has brought the third round of JBWere Australian Masters 2010 to halt at Victoria Golf Club, Melbourne.
Light downpours were a part of the scenario in the third round, but as soon as Sergio Garcia hit the tee, a horn was blown on the par-71 course. Heavy showers took the charge, forcing the officials of the PGA tour Australasia to declare the event off on
temporary basis.
The third round started at 7.45 am in the morning, but the early conditions could not do any good to the leader board scores. The lowest score attained remained around 66.
Ryna Haller managed the magnificent score with the help of five birdies and one eagle. The Australian teed off from the front nine taking advantage of lower fairways. He picked up two early birdies to lower his score to one-under. On his way to the back
nine, Haller picked two successive birdies on 11th and 12th, but sandwiched a bogey on par-4 13th. Eagle on the last hole sealed his game and brought the player to top four spot of the leader board.
Nathan Uebergang produced the worst score of the day. The veteran drafted nine bogeys, one double bogey against two birdies to wrap the round at 80.
Camilo Villegas remained consistent with a 70 on the third last round of the tournament. The Spaniard has not been able reach 60s in all three rounds.
On the other hand, Sergio Garcia who made the course lowest on Friday came out with a big flashing smile, but could not stay longer on the course. Garcia has been winless on the European Tour and is eyeing a top five finish in the tournament.
The man who charged $3 million for showing his face in JBWere Australian Masters 2009, agreed on a purse of $1.35 million this time.
Defending champion Tiger Woods produced a 71 to seal the round and is on the verge of losing the only title under his belt.
