Golf Update: Ryder Cup 2010- Hole Number 11 and 12- Match Summary of Session Two.
The lilac Woods at the 11th hole:
In an interesting lilac get-up, Tiger Woods played the hole number 11 with an A/S. At his third shot, the American saw his ball going reverse after touching the ground. The American then used his putter for a birdie and but unfortunately missed it.
The hole number 11 saw Steve Stricker playing his 3rd shot in a fairly graceful manner. The ball landed on the green with just a few feet distance from the cup. Zach Johnson on the other hand played a very wet 385 yard hole, his drive sent his
white ball straight into the water. Ian Poulter at this hole played his fourth shot and sent his ball short of the hole on the green.
Westwood played a great shot to display his strength. He only needed to carefully tweek his ball a little right or left in order to pass the lethal water bunker. His par 4 second shot saw him practicing once and sent the crowd in a wild cheer as he achieved
the desired.
Among the birdies and the halves, Steve Stricker played for a birdie at the 11th hole and achieved it. Jeff Overton also played an amazing birdie and was seen celebrating with his partner. Luke Donald on the 11th hole played for the
halves. He had it good with 2 at the leader board.
The wind was too much at the 12th hole:
At the 12th hole Martin Kaymer played a good attacking shot in hopes for a birdie. All he needed was to get the pace right, the crowd was silenced, Kaymer played but the ball refused to go in.
The 12th hole saw Phil Mickelson striving for a birdie with a 1 down in hands. The shot played by the lefty had perfect line and would have reached the cup but Mickelson’s hit wasn’t hard enough.
Stricker with an A/S on his 2nd shot sent his ball on semi-rough and amazingly stopped just near the water.
Ian Poulter’s 2nd shot at the 12th along with fisher landed his ball on the semi-rough. His stroke at the par 4 disappointed the crowd and him a bit too much; the ball was just not flying.
Among those whom the winds favoured is Woods with Poulter losing the hole, he played his 2nd shot at the 12th hole and sent his ball on the green.  Poulter’s 3rd shot was a good one from the semi-rough which rolled the ball
near the hole. From the few short feet, Poulter couldn’t get the ball in and gave woods team a 1 up in return. Woods however missed the birdie he had aimed for in the end.
Steve Stricker’s 3rd shot at the par4 from semi-rough sent the ball straight into the hole. This amazing shot gave Stricker a birdie in his hands as the ball hit the flag stick fairly hard. Lee Westwood played a wonderful tee-shot at the 15th
but failed to grab a birdie in his hands. However, he won the hole attaining a 2 up. Stricker at 13th hole sent his ball on the green.
Till this time, team Matt Kuchar stood with a 1 up, team Wood also with a 1 up and team Overton with a 2 up. Ian Poulter birdied at the 13th hole whereas kucher played for the par at the 14th hole which he achieved easily. Lee Westwood
and Kaymer combo stood at 1 up against their rival Phil Mickelson and Dustin Jhonson while Bubba Watson and Jeff Overton stood at the 2up in red.
