Golf Update: The American Ben Crane clinches the CIMB golf trophy in Malaysia
The thirty four years old American talented golfer Ben Crane has played staggeringly well to clutch the title of CIMB (Commerce Investment Merchant Bank) Asia Pacific golf event which was being held in Kuala Lumpur.
It was a stiff competition between the American, Ben Crane and his arch rival Englishman Brian Lester Davis for the tournament title. But Crane proofed to be a bit too good among all the other participants.
Brian Davis seemed pretty strong during the day and played a very impressive game by finishing at over par sixty. On the other hand, Ben Crane carded a putt from eight feet distance to finish the round on eighteen under par with the day’s score of sixty
nine under par to snatch the lucrative trophy of six hundred and twenty thousand pounds.
The other two ace English ace golfers Luke Donald and Martin Laird shared the third spot of the tournament with the score of sixteen under par.
The title of the CIMB Asia Pacific golf event was not at all an easy title for the thirty four years old American as he was challenged by some of the best golfers of the world like Luke, Laird and Davis. However, Crane kept his head impressively well to
outclass them all.
In the tournament, the twenty seven years old Scot Martin Laird seemed a little out of touch but recovered really well in the final rounds of the tournament. By finishing over the third number he has shown his class and has bluntly conveyed a message to
his rivals that he is still in-form and has the ability of giving a stiff and strong challenge.
Crane putted the final birdie of the day and carded an awesome birdie on the fifteenth hole gave him a stronger lead over the others.
Winning a trophy with a huge cash prize of one million dollars has given Crane a very strong inspiration for the upcoming golfing events. The title has also brought a lot of happiness and courage to him. After winning the event the American veteran golfer
expressed his views pretty excitedly and told the media that the previous week has been really marvellous and lucky for him and he is very happy about the fact that everything went smoothly well according to his plans during the final rounds of the tournament.
He added and said that the putt from the eight foot distance was one of the most memorable putt for him and no doubt everything has been very special for him this week.
The American added and said that the final moments of the tournament were very crucial for him as he really wanted to win the event and the final birdie brought overwhelming excitement and confidence to him.
While talking about his performance on the final day of the CIMB event, the American told the media and said that he knew that he was not out of the tournament at all and his birdie on the fifteenth hole changed the situation of the point’s table, upside
down.
At one side, it has been a remarkable event for Ben Crane but on the other side it has not been a disappointing one for the English ace golfer Brain Davis.
Davis expressed his views and feelings in a state of despair and told the media that the final round of the tournament was pretty disappointing for him as he has not been able to play well and made mistakes in the final and crucial round of the event. He
told the media that his bogey on the seventh was on the fifteenth was not impressive as well. Later Davis added that he has learnt a lot from his mistakes now and hopefully he will try to avoid the similar mistakes in the further golf tournaments.
