Golf Update: The Ryder Cup star Graeme McDowell facing bad luck in Dubai
The days are not lucky for the Northern Irishman golfing veteran Graeme McDowell as he has not been able to display an impressive game in the ongoing Dubai World Championship golf event, which is being held in Dubai these days.
In the second round of the Dubai World Championship, the thirty one years old Irishman McDowell finished the day by recording the performance of seventy three under par and now his chances of grasping the European number one golf rank are pretty bleak.
It is to be notified that the Ryder Cup star Graeme McDowell has to finish in top three to overtake his German arch rival Martin Kaymer. Presently the twenty five years old Germany ace golfer Martin Kaymer is displaying a very good playing form and he might snatch the world number one title from the thirty seven years old current world number one British veteran golfer Lee Westwood.
However, to clinch the top rank of golf, Martin Kaymer would have to win the lucrative ongoing World Championship, which is no doubt going to be a very tough task for Kaymer. Currently Martin is on the fourth position over the point’s table of the tournament.
Presently the Ryder Cup British golfing star Ross Fisher is leading the score board of the event. In the second round of the World Championship Fisher and Ian Poulter played brilliantly well and recorded a superb nine under par, whereas the Englishman Ross finished the day at blistering under par sixty four.
At the moment, the tournament seems to be quite open for all the top golfers but it is probably the last chance for Graeme McDowell to improve his game and shorten the points gap as his chances of winning the trophy are getting bleaker and bleaker by day.
While talking about the matter, Martin Kaymer expressed his views and said that McDowell has to perform staggeringly well to win the championship now as all the participants are displaying a very good game and the event is getting tougher and tougher everyday.
McDowell carded three birdies in the 7 holes and his performance was not at all satisfying for him at all. Moreover, the Irish star is very well aware of his current position in the event.
After the second day’s play, the thirty one years old expressed his views in a state of worry and told that his chances of winning the event are not very bright and he has to give his best to recover now. He continued and said that there is no other option remaining for him but to try his luck hard.
According to Graeme McDowell, he is feeling very difficult to improve his performance at the moment as the conditions of the tournament are not very friendly and suitable for him. He added that the first two round’s performances have made him very frustrated and he is losing patience now.
Graeme told the media about his performance that sadly his performance was very disappointing in the first two rounds of the event as he was able to hit three birdies a day. He added that some mistakes have created a lot of trouble for him and now it is very difficult for him to finish the event in a victorious way.
The thirty one years old Irish expressed his sheer determination and said that he will give his best now as the tournament is still wide open for him. He added that he is very hopeful to give a strong challenge to the other rivals.
The Dubai World Championship golf event has entered into a very crucial stage now. At one hand when Martin Kaymer is eyeing to usurp the world number one rank from Lee Westwood, Graeme McDowell is struggling hard to grab the European number one golfing rank on the other hand.
