Golf Update: Tiger Woods hoping to usurp the record of Jack Nicklaus
The thirty four years old legendry golfer from America, Tiger Woods is eyeing to level the record of the legendary golfer Jack Nicklaus despite of losing the world number one rank.
Tiger Woods has won fourteen major golf titles during his blistering and sparkling professional career and needs four more major titles to level the all time record holder Jack Nicklaus.
In a very recent interview the thirty four years old golfing veteran expressed his thoughts and ambitions while talking to the media. Woods said that it is a dream for him to level the record of the great Nicklaus and he is very hopeful that he will capture
the glory someday.
Woods also said that levelling the record or overtaking the eighteen major wins record of Jack is the highest mark for any golfer in the world and he has always been dreaming about revamping the record of Nicklaus.
For the people who are not aware of the matter, it is to be notified that it took Jack Nicklaus almost twenty years to win eighteen major golf titles. While talking about the fact, Woods said that he is still young and he has got the ability to capture more
and more titles. He added that he has performed brilliantly well during his career and he has got the passion and the confidence to play better in the future as well.
The current year has not been a good year for Tiger as he has been suffering through some mental stress due to his extra marital scandal. But after getting divorced, Woods had told that he is finally at peace now and is ready to focus over his game.
Wood’s performance in the Ryder Cup was also appreciated by the critics and fans as he gave a glimpse of his class and capacity at the Celtic Manor. Currently the thirty four years old former world number one is eyeing to participate in the HSBC Golf Championship,
which is going to be held in China this week.
While answering to question about his plans in the upcoming event, the American expressed his thoughts by saying that his focus is to win every tournament he participates in. He added and said that every player wants to win an event for him and the level
of the competition has grown up to a very high extent.
Woods said that the HSBC championship is not going to be an easy task for him, as some of the best golfers in the world are participating in the event.
The thirty seven years old, Lee Westwood has recently usurped the world top rank of golf from Woods. While answering to question about the fact, Woods admired the game of Westwood and said that Lee is a great player and his capacity cannot be questioned.
Woods added and said that Lee has been displaying the best game of golf from the previous two years and he truly deserves the top world number one spot.
While talking about his performance, the thirty four years old said that he has not won a single tournament this year as the year has been one of the worst performing years of his professional career. But he has worked hard to change his technique and so
far he is feeling very good about it.
The former world number one said that he has won many tournaments during his career and he knows the chemistry of the game.
Tiger Woods said that it requires a lot of determination and belief to sustain the world’s top spot but now his target is to level the record of the all time golf champ Jack Nicklaus.
