Golf Update: Timberlake is a proud owner of an eco friendly golf course, Mirimich
Justin Timberlake is back in the news for his all of a sudden – great love for golf!  The   singer has opened an eco friendly golf course in Memphis, where he spent his early child hood.
Memphis is a city in the south west corner of Tennessee, United States of America. It has never lacked BBQ joints or blues clubs .What was missing was a public golf courses and Timberlake decided to fill the gap.
On Labour Day, Timberlake made an appearance in his home town to officially reopen Mirimich. This is the name of the golf course which is now opened for the public. The cub is situated about 30 minutes from downtown, Mirimichi but earlier, it was known as
the Big Creek Golf Course.
The story at the back end of this course is that, Timberlake grew up a few miles away, and long before he became a renowned celebrity, he fell in love with golf while playing on this course. Moreover, this place happens to be the venue of his parent’s wedding
as well. Therefore, when the course went up for sale and speculations were that it was in danger of being torn down and turned into a housing scheme, Timberlake, along with his mother, Lynn Harless, and stepfather, Paul Harless, stepped in. Fortunately, they
were able to save it.
However, after far flung reconditioning, Mirimichi was re-opened in July 2009, but that was just an initiation.  According to Timberlake’s step father, a positive rejoinder from the community pushed them to speed up   the three-year improvement plan. Instead
of gradually adding features over the next few years, they decided to close the course in January 2010 and get it done in six months. In addition to improvements to the 7,479-yard championship course, Mirimichi now has a Callaway Performance Center along with a
9-hole executive course. The purpose of these improvements was to create a golfing facility that would meet the needs of everyone from professional golfers to beginners.
Moreover, Timberlake wanted to make the course environmentally friendly. For that, he partnered with Audubon International, Mirimichi to boost the expansive plan to limit the course's impact and also to enhance the surrounding environment. In result of this,
The Golf Environment Organization has awarded Mirimichi its green certification, which means, now Timberlake owns the first golf course in United States to receive the honours of being eco- friendly.
According to the regional director for GEO, Bud Smart, "Mirimichi is what we, as an organization, want every golf course to aspire to.”
However, there was another purpose of these advancements. Timberlake and his management at Mirimichi golf course hopes to host the U.S. Amateur Public Links, which someday might bring a major championship to Memphis. Well, not a bad plan, after all it will
bring in more money!
Indeed, it will. In order to get the plan executed, Timberlake and Mirimichi management has brought in Bergin Golf Designs and Sanders Golf Construction. According to the media reports, the greens will be renovated with Bermuda grass to allow shots to hold
the greens. Secondly, four greens will be extended towards the water site to add some thrill and challenge. However, this change will have two impacts, one the tournament player will face more challenge and second; the average player will get a safe zone with
the champs getting into trouble.
This is it for the news that states that, America now has an eco- friendly golf course owned by Justin Timberlake, the pop sensation. The course is first of its kind and therefore a true representation of Timberlake’s love for golf .Earlier the star got
himself a 5 hole, Putting green in his Hollywood mansion.
Justin if you should have waited a little longer, you would have been able to shoot the video of the single “My Love “at the greens of Mirimichi!
