Golf Update: Tseng Yani creates history by Clutching Women’s British Open trophy
The young golfer from Taiwan, Yani Tseng is creating marvels in the world of golf these days. After winning the Women’s British open, Yani has proved herself, one of the best female golfers in the world.
Yani is the youngest female player who has won three major championships in a very short span of time and it seems that she is not going to stop at all. This young golfer has just created a history by winning another major in Southport England. The golfer from Taiwan ended the game by making a 6 foot putt on the eighteenth hole to win the prestigious title of the Women’s British Open Golf championship. Yani grasped the sensational victory at the last stroke and took the lead of 3 over her rival Australian golf ace Katherine Hull. With the victory, she has shown her class and proved herself as a golfer who has the capability of thrashing any competitor. This is the second major title won by Yani this year. It was a very close competition between the Hull and Yani but in the end, the trophy went into the Yani’s hands.
Hull missed a twenty foot birdie and settled for 70 and on the other hand, Yani Tseng made a great putt to secure 73 to get the lead over Katherine Hull. In the beginning, Hull trimmed the lead of Yani and got very close to her by displaying awesome birdies in the second and the third. Tseng got a bit unlucky by dropping a stroke at the third. However, despite of such a wonderful performance, Hull had to experience the taste of bad luck for the day. The victory has granted Yani not only fame but wealth as well. She has earned an amount of 408,000 U.S dollars.
Hull made some mistakes in the game at very crucial stages and made a paved way for Yani to grasp the victory. After winning the title Yani expressed her views about her glorious victory in a very happy mood, she said that it was a very nervous day for her and she was feeling all the pressure of the moment but she kept her head strongly and it is a matchless victory for her. The Taiwanese golf ace appreciated the game of Katherine Hull and admired the focus of her rival over the game. She accepted the fact by saying that it is always difficult to play against Hull, as she is one of the best female golfers in the world. Later Yani admitted that it was one of the most difficult and close games she has ever won in her life.
On the other hand, the golfer from Australia Katherine Hull seemed very normal and confident about her performance and expressed her views by saying that it was a good game for her and she has to work hard for the future. She added that missing the putt on seventeen was the most crucial moment and it didn’t go according to her expectations. Later Katherine added that it was a game from which she has gained a lot, which will help her in the future and she will try to improve her performance to her fullest. Two Korean female golfers Na Yeon Choi and In kyung Kim had a good day as well, they divided the third spot at 7-under 281. American female golf player Cristie Kerr secured the fifth, Kerr was followed by the other two Koreans Heekyung Seo and Amy Yangon.
With this victory, the 21 year old Tseng Yani has proved her a strong entity in the golf world with her class and talent. She cannot be ignored and her performance is a living proof that she has the capacity of creating a major upset and turning the game upside down in no time. No doubt, she is going to be a super star performer in the coming future.
