The English world champ golfing veteran Lee Westwood has said that his arch rival Tiger Woods is capable of re-usurping the world number one rank from him. Westwood has also said that underestimating Tiger Woods would be a blunder as he can give a splendid
performance any time.
It is to be notified that the Englishman Lee Westwood gave an end to Tiger’s two eighty one weeks supremacy over the world number one spot of golf.
Currently, Woods is struggling to win his first title of this year in California as he has not won a tournament this year so far. It is also to be remembered that Tiger Woods has been trying his luck hard to improve his game as his personal life scandals
had sidelined him from the world of golf as well as from a good playing form.
Not only Tiger Woods but presently other top golfers like Martin Kaymer and Phil Mickelson are also trying their luck hard to snatch the top spot of golf from the thirty seven years old ace Lee Westwood. Moreover, all the arch rivals of Westwood had the
chance of usurping the world number one rank from Lee in the recent HSBC golf event in Shanghai, China.
In a very recent interview, Lee Westwood expressed his thoughts by saying that the conditions are getting crucial and exciting as all the top golfers are very close of snatching the world number one title from him. He added that to make sure he is the number
one golfer of the world he would have to work hard and continue his good form of golf.
Westwood said that it is a great feeling of being the top golfer of the world and it took him really long to clinch the world number one title and he is not worried about the future at all. The Briton said that it is a proud feeling for him as he is currently
the world number one and everybody else is trying to snatch his position.
Lee Westwood also told the media about his thirty four years old American legend and arch rival Tiger Woods. Lee said that Woods showed some remarkable improvement in his game at Celtic Manor in the Ryder Cup. He added that Tiger Woods is slowly improving
his game and his capacity cannot be challenged at all.
Westwood said that he has seen Tiger Woods winning the US Open golf event two years back with a broken leg. According to Lee Westwood, the slump in the performance of Tiger Woods due to his personal life opened a window of opportunity for him to usurp his
world number one ranking. Moreover, Lee Westwood is of the view that Woods was mentally prepared for handling his title to any other golfer as he was not in the right mental phase to give his best in the world of golf.
Lee Westwood said that he has still not won an event this year and he has got three more events in the year to take part. He added that he is looking forward to continue his good form and at least win a tournament.
It is also to be notified that Lee Westwood is suffering from calf injury these days. The Briton has not been able to give his full due to his calf injury and according to many critics his injury might give an easy opportunity to his rivals to grasp his
top rank of golf.
Lee added that confidence is the key to perform better in the world of golf and so far, he is feeling very confident to perform better in the upcoming golf events. He continued that at the moment, the pressure of performing better is more over his shoulders
as compared to the other golfers but he is hopeful to the settle the brawl in a victorious way.
