Obviously grounding your club in the sand is taboo but what about the grass if you and the ball are in the hazard.

  1. You may ground a club on the grass surrounding the bunker when both you and the ball are in the bunker. Why you would want to do that unless it is for support and aiding getting in and out of the hazard is beyond me.

  2. This site Golflink has a great section on bunker play. Hopefully that helps you. Good luck!

  3. There is no rule for grounding your club in the grass, even if you are standing in the sand trap...but you can not ground your club ( if standing on the grass) with your ball in the sand..many people do not know that..

  4. Grounding your club in a hazard is always illegal.  It seems you understand that much.  As long as the surrounding grass isn't part of the hazard, it is legal.

  5. yes you can, just can't ground the club in  any hazard.
