  1. You got some mis-information that last time you asked this question. The data on the two links that were provided is very old. At least ten years old, and in golf that's an eternity. Of the 28 pages of the USGA Conforming Golf Balls, dated February 6th 2008,  none are liquid center and none are wound. They are all solid core. The list is updated by the first Wednesday of every month. You may have an older ball that may be wound but none are made today.

  2. Depends on ball.  It is also sometimes like the roller ball in a mouse except made of rubber.

Best thing to do is if you find a cracked ball on the course hit it a couple of times to see if it will open.  Not only educational but fun.

  3. The soft rubber is just a load of rubber bands and the center is a ping pong ball.

  4. This all depends on the golf ball softer or harder shell. I can tell you that the softer ones such as the old titleist balata or the new titleist pro v1 they are indeed covered by rubber bands however once you take those bands off there is a soft gel ball. And the ball inside is indeed temp reactive. I learned this from scrapping away the shell of the ball and removing the bands. While i am not sure that it was due to the friction of removing the shell or not the inside of the gel ball are quite hot to actually leave burns when they are popped.
