Question:

Golf ball with soft feel?

I'm trying to find a golfball that has a soft feel. I have plenty of distance but I have trouble around the greens. I can't seem to find a ball that chips and rolls well on the green. I realize that alot of this is my lack of skill. Somebody gave me a sleeve of Nike balls once in a red package. I loved them but have lost them over the years, and can't find them anywhere.

  1. Nike power distance long are the ones in the red package.  They make a green one power distance soft.   you can get them relatively cheap.  ebay is great for golf ball bargains.  I use Titleist NXT tour and NXT extreme.  I think they are the best for all around durability (i bounce them off trees/cart paths), distance, and control.  The tour version spins around the green better and feels softer.

  2. The ultimate ball soft and feel the pro v 1. combined with good quality irons and scoring wedges of course with the right loft and lie angle set for the player. then take a 8 - Sand wedge and practice chipping from the same distance you will improve very quickly with distance control.

  3. try the new taylormade tp ldp balls they are brill.long off the tee and spin alot and wont mark up much.......also another good golf ball is a bridgestone a6 or r300

  4. Pro V1, Pro V1X,. Callaway Hx Tour and HX Tour 56, Bridgestone B-330 and B-330S,....There a quite a few good balls out there that will allow you to play a variety of different shots from 50 yards in that you just can't play with a rock.  For a cheap ball that is relatively good,...as someone else mentioned the NXT Tour ball is a decent alternative to a player's ball if you want to save a few bucks.

  5. Inquire at a golf shop or a country club pro shop for the ball with a soft feel . As for chipping use the less lofted irons and develop a bump and run shot. Put the lob wedge, gap wedge and pitching wedge away and hit the easier shot that I suggested.Once you have mastered the easy one go back and try the hard ones. Incidentally, the ball has little to do with the shot. Its the person holding the club who is to blame.

  6. I would recomend you the Titelist DT solo; Nike MOJO (these balls have a glittery look so don't buy if you don't like the glittery look); Nike Juice; Never a Top Flite.  I think what you mean by Nike balls in a red sleeve is the Nike Super Far.
