Golf deals for beginners in Massachusetts?

My wife and her friend are new golfers, are there any good deals in the Boston area for a beginner to intermediate level player?

I don't know the area but sometimes golf courses themselves will sell their used clubs at a steal. I work on a course in a area that is overly populated with courses.  Another idea is the golf warehouses for the supplies.

I am an advocate for lady golfers and have dedicated a website to women golfers.  Good deals are everywhere.  The best place to find them is on the internet and in your local papers.  Most clubs have a ladies league and is a great place to play with women of all levels.  They usually play once a week in the morning or late afternoon.  I was introduced to many lady golfers through the league and learned of many deals available.  Face to face networking is invaluable.

Are you looking for clubs or places to play?

For clubs, I would recommend Golfer's Warehouse (http://www.golferswarehouse.com/golfersw... They have a hitting area where you can test out clubs and will make recommendations. They also sell used clubs.

As for places to play, I used to play at Leo J. Martin. It's in Weston along the Charles. Not thre greatest course, but it's pretty nice, fairly cheap and has a driving range as well.
