i have narrowed down my decision between 2 taylormades : the tour burner tp and the r7 425 tp

i know that they both have open faces and i have a slight hook so that's no problem

now my dilemma is this i like the burner because of the matrix shaft option and i like the r7 because of the movable weights but i think that being a mid to high handicapper and that i wont really change the weights.

  1. Ive heard that the tour burner is a very good driver and one of my friends was going to get it plus is comes with the matrix so i would definitely say the burner

  2. If you have narrowed down your decision to these 2......Have you actually hit them?  Will the Matrix shaft work best for you?  or is another shaft possibly a better fit for your swing.  So many folks get caught up in the buzz about some miracle shaft.....I've seen literally hundreds of newest and greatest shafts in my life so far.....but the truth is that next year there will be a newer latest an greatest.  go with what you hit best.

  3. Tour Burner

  4. Question is: If you slice, why are you happy with a Driver that makes you slice?

The R7 425 with adjustable weights is designed to help with different ball flights. More weight closer to the shaft, less at the toe to produce a draw.

Check out Taylormade's website for more detail about the weighting system.

They also have a R7 Draw Driver as well with no adjustable weights.

Now onto the Burner... They make a Draw style burner.  Check out the website   http://www.taylormadegolf.com/product_de...

    Tip:

If you do get the R7 Driver, use lock-tight on the threads to prevent them from backing out.

Also, go to a Golf shop and try them out before you start throwing money away, and find what you feel you hit the best. Most Golf shops' will let you experiment with the weight system.

  5. Go with the one that best suits your needs and budget.  If you won't be changing the weights maybe you shouldn't bother paying for that technology.

  6. Go with the Tour Burner. I did. And will never swing a driver that is not taylormade. I had the 425 last year, and it got a rattle in it so i traded for the fti. I kept it for about 10 months before i bought my tour burner. And now, i hit them long and straight.
