  1. concentrate on strengthening your back and your legs.  that is where a powerful golf swing comes from.  big pecs and biceps are for frat boys who just want to look good at the beach.

flexibility is important too.  plenty of stretching or maybe some yoga too

  2. The best thing to do is to get used to walking and carrying your bag. Strong legs and arms are a must,  but you don't want the weightlifter's muscles. You want yours to be like rubber bands. Your golf coach should be able to advise a set of exercises you can use to develop those golf muscles.

  3. HELLO!

It's so much to do with the wrists that it is silly...Here is what Tiger did when he was a child.

He took the sections of his Sunday Paper (the LA times in his case) and crumpled each of the pages with one hand then the other. He did it not only with the Sunday paper, but with daily editions as well.

As long as you are accurate and can get the ball to the green on most second shots, there is not reason right now to do much more. There was a recent article in golfdigest (check at golfdigest.com) about the proper transfer of energy to add distance. Look for the October or November issues. SHow it to your coach or golf teacher and see if some of it can apply to you and your game.

The answers here show how much of an individual game golf really is. It is unbelieveable that you can see so many different opinions. Of course, before embarking on any training regimen, consult with a PGA or LPGA professional or your golf coach if s/he is qualified.

Scott in NY who plays great from 100 yards in and makes his hay there.
