Golf gets decorated with Comeback Kids
With the showdown of Northern Trust Open kicking off on Thursday, the line-up of the event is anticipated to get star-studded with the arrival of comeback kids in mainstream golf.
Players like Phil Mickelson, Kyle Stanley and Brandt Snedeker will be making it to Riviera to continue their winning streaks.
Mickelson has recently rejuvenated his career with the help of the Pebble Beach event after he was able to defeat the debutant Tiger Woods at Montreal Peninsula.
In order to mark his 41st PGA Tour victory, the 41-year-old golfer is all set and geared to once again add his name among the best of golf.
Adding to the emotional value of the event is the 24-year-old Kyle Stanley who, despite not making it into Pebble Beach, was still able to grab a convincing win at Phoenix Open.
In what turned out to be a sentimental showdown for the golfer, Kyle was contented to find a bleak hope in his slumping golf career.
He was finally able to find an anchor to rescue himself from further trouble in the form of his recent win.
"I hadn't been home in four weeks," Stanley said. "I didn't do a whole lot. My first priority was just kind of catch up on rest after the last couple of weeks. I needed it".
With the aim of making his tour more eventful, he is all set and geared to tee it off at the Northern Tour.
It is interesting to mention that Stanley will also be teeing it off against his arch rival Brandt Snedeker.
Both of them share a rivalry after Snedeker defeated the current Phoenix Open Champion at Torrey Pines.
Experts believe that the way they will battle it out will be worth watching. However, the very start of the tee it off campaign for the trio will take place with Hogan Alley’s A-star golfers.
Commenting about the mounting excitement of the game, Stanley said, "It's cool. It'll be fun. I've gotten to know Phil a little bit the past couple weeks, and we'll have a good time".
According to pundits, it is difficult for any one player to be termed as hot favourite, since all three of them have the potential and the right temperament to grab the trophy.
