Golf goes gaga over Trump efforts!
The corporate war between New York property tycoon Donald Trump and the political leaders of Scotland seem to be taking a difficult path with the real estate mogul adding greater drama and sensationalism to the entire situation.
In an outburst of statements, Trump squarely blamed the administration of golf development in Scotland of destroying the coast line of the country and posing a serious threat to the beauty of Scotland itself.
It is important to mention here that some four years ago, if it can easily be recalled, both stakeholders enjoyed a healthy relationship.
This can further be vindicated from the fact that Scotland’s First Minister Alex Salmond completely supported Trump’s golf development project of constructing the multi-billion dollar project.
The project reached its completion, despite protest from environmentalists as an attempt to destroy the sand dunes present in the nearby areas.
However, in the current scenario, the entire situation seems to be taking a completely new and a rather bitter turn.
Commenting in response to the letter that has been written by Trump, condemning the development of golf course, Salmond said, “Who is Donald Trump to tell Scotland what is good for our economy or environment?”
“He completely over-blows the impact of the proposed wind farm, and to be honest, there are so many mistakes in this ‘trumped up’ nonsense that it’s difficult to know where to begin”.
People viewing the situation from different angles, have said that Trump has gone to every possible extent he could in order to ridicule the Scottish National Party saying that the resources invested for the project will be used for the economic advantage
of countries like China.
Another reason that Trump has provided as a justification of his actions is because of his maternal origin from Scotland. “I’m doing this to save Scotland and honour my mother”.
He has further added that the beauty of a place like Scotland will be tarnished and the countries who will benefit from these projects will in turn laugh at the stupidity of Scottish politicians and legislators.
So far the stance of Scottish politicians on this action has been in the form of silence. They have, however, condemned the action and dubbed Trump’s comments as completely baseless.
