what would be a low, mid, and high handicap?

  1. I would consider 10 and below to be a good low handicap.  Between 11-30 mid, and above 30 high.


  2. For those that track handicap, which is a small minority of all golfers, about 50% are below 15 and 50% are above.  

    Go to the USGA handicap site and they ahve the stats.  About 0.13% are below scratch, I think.  

    Overall, the National Golf Foundation tracks scoring (not handicap per se) averages for marketing purposes.  According to their site, 25% of golfers shoot between 80-90 average.

  4. You'll get different answers on this one since there are no 'standards'.  Among our group of golfers, single digit handicap is low, 10-15 is good, 15-20 is average and above 20 is high.

    Our club tournaments break this down to below 20 and above 20 for 2 different flights, for 3 flights, it would be below 10, 20 and above 20.
