  1. Halving a hole is only used in match play, not stroke play.

If the two golfers competing on a specific hole make the same score for that hole..the hole is considered halved(tied)....

Example...on the first hole of match play... if one player makes a 3 and the other a 4...the player who made the 3 is considered 1up.... the 4 is considered 1down...

It does not matter if you make a 19 on the hole and the other person makes a 3...he is only 1up..... and it starts over on the next hole....whoever wins the most holes..not neccesarily the best overall score...wins the match

  2. when both players score the same score...then its like a tie but both win half of the hole basically

  3. Both players got the same score so you 'halve'/share the hole when you mark the scorecard.

  4. It means you're pregnant.

  5. it would bug me too ... until i read what the others said.

I would have thought "Hole in One" is one hole in one shot ... so hole in half is when your dog "retrieved your ball and dropped in in the hole for you.

Train your dog like that and you can score 18 one a ful course
