  1. Find a 4 or 5 person scamble tournament to play in and ask him if he would like to join yall, you need another player!!!!

  2. you really should follow chain of command and get your actual boss to invite you.  if you were a pleasure to play with or you have a kick *** game, you'll be invited to play with the bigger dogs.

  3. anything about golf gambling games. (ie. Scramble, lowball, stableford, alternate shot, wolf). Thats how i get professors attention when i need a good grade.

  4. Ask him if he wants his butt handed to him over a round of golf!  You'll show your confidence and he'll respect you for it.  Don't e-mail the man or woman.  Invite them face to face.  Nothing is more impersonal than an e-mail.

  5. I like some of these ideas a lot.  From the "Hey boss, do you want your @$$ handed to you ; ) to the more formal approach.

What this shows is that every company has its own culture and how you approach your boss depends on that culture, your relationship with the boss, his personality, etc.

What I will say is DO NOT USE EMAIL UNLESS IT IS A BUSINESS RELATED GOLF GAME.   Email is for professional purposes and you don't know just who may be watching.  If he is the owner, more the reason to not use email.

I do suggest that if you use the gift certificate method, don't pin him down to just one weekend.  Too much pressure.  If you use the "I'll take you down" approach, you had better have game and he has to be a good loser - your job is probably more important than humiliating him.  And if you get creamed - you look like the idiot.

  6. Not an email, maybe get in a converstation with your bosees boss, and then start talking golf.  Tell him your going this Sat Am, (make it a good course)  If your looking to get in good with them, it would be worth your wild to go and purchase some gift certs from the course prior to going.  Tell the Bosses boss, "hey this weekend I am going golfing at ___________, would you like to come with?  I have these two gift certs I won in a team tourney there a few months ago, and need to use them this weekend, It would be great if you could come along."  Be  cool and relaxed about it, not professional, but admirable.  If you like playing golf with them, and they you you can exchange numbers and play regular.  Don't be afraid to bet either.  Don't bring it up unless they do, but my experience shows that the higer up the ladder the more the person likes to bet.  My old boss would play and bet atleast 100 per round.  He was a great guy, gave out cigars, owned two small companies, and usually buzzed on whiskey.  He sucked at golf, but I would rather play with him than someone serious.  I loved the game, all aspects, and the people he played with.

  7. I wouldn't shoot him an email.  Every opportunity you get to speak to him, chat him up about golf.  It may take some time, but eventually you may get that invite.
