Question:

Golf irons under 500 dollars?

I got a 500 dollars gift certificate to rector’s golf shop in Frederick. If I buy the clubs there they will analyze my swing and customize the clubs. What are the best clubs I can get for the 500? I may be willing to chip in a little extra if I need to. Maybe 1 or 2 hundred. I am looking for a set of irons by the way.

  1. I hate to say this, because I certainly have my own opinions about manufacturers and models, but you have the best opportunity to find that out when you go to the golf shop to get your irons. Hit every demo they have, pay attention to feel and which ones you just plain like.

IMO, get the Callaway X-Forged, or the Tour Edge EX-1 (if you can still find them). Good luck and happy hunting.

  2. That would depend on your game and how good you are.  If you are not that good, a mid to high handicapper, you want to go with a set of game improvement type of irons.  If you are a low handicapper, you should consider forged blades.

    Good Luck.

  3. Club purchasing is a  players preference. Money often comes second. I've been told some players maxed out they're credit cards on a purchase. Your getting ideas on this site is good but; I would rather see you go and physically pick up different clubs and get an eye on what appeals to you and what clubs  feel good in your hands.

  4. most irons are the same if you are going to get fitted that is the only way to go you can get a top name for that price get what you   look good for your eyes

  5. I would seriously look at either Tour Edge or Adams. I believe that you get the most for your money from these names. Nike, Callaway, Ping, etc. are great, but you are paying for the name and the endorsements, which means that you are paying more for advertising than for product.

  6. Tiger sharks

    the whole set is 400
