  1. I know my pro wanted me me to rpactice a few times between lessons and try to play at least 9 holes between lessons to see how they took hold.

  2. That completely depends on your level of play.

If you a beginner, practice as much as you can. Try to hit balls at the range every other day, play once or twice a week. I would suggest a lesson every other week. When you go to the lesson, have questions ready, pick the pros mind, and have things you want to work on, be pro-active and get as much out of the lesson as you can.

If you’re an accomplished player,  lessons are for issues that may pop up, fixes. There will be lots of practice and play between lessons.

Pros, don’t really take “lessons” they have coaches, they will work on very minute details of there swing, over long periods.

  3. Your lessons should be spaced at least a week apart then you should try and put in 2 half hour practice sessions. Remember to practice what you have worked with during the lesson and quality practice is better than quantity.

Take your time between each shot and make sure you apply the basic fundamentals correctly.

It would be wise to take the fundamentals seriously because they determine how fast you will improve.

  4. I wouldn't take any lesions if you can avoid them but lessons are an excellent idea.

When I first started playing I took lessons once a week, hit 200-300 balls a day, spent an hour on the putting green and an hour on the chipping green every day! Of course I was only fourteen and worked at the golf course. This is the kind of dedication it takes if you want to become really good at the game. If you are planning on playing for fun and don't mind shooting in the 90s and 100s, then follow the other people's advice. It all depends on what you want to achieve. Golf is a very difficult game and if you want to excel at it you have to put in the work.

Talk to any playing pro or really good amateur and ask them the amount of time they put into the game, you will be astounded at the number of hours they dedicate.

  5. As much as you can.  Everyday if possible.
