  1. Carol,

I can't answer specifically on this question as I am not near Arlington Heights.  However I would like to throw out that, being a woman, you should get your lessons from another woman.  I have had male and female coaches/trainers and find that the female perspective is much better for me.  Men and women have completely different swings due to um...well, b*****s.

    Good Luck!

  2. Carol,

I too cannot recommend a teacher in your area, but I can recommend a way to suppliment and really develop your golf swing when you can't get to the driving range or golf course. I recommend the almostGolf ball. It's a new generation of 'practice balls' that give real golf ball flight and feel, but flies a playing field friendly distance and doesn't break windows. As a result, you can begin to work on what your teacher is showing you by walking out your back door and hitting shots for 15-30 minutes a day.

Basically, if you can suppliment your on-course practice with just a few minutes a day of 'shooting free throughs' around the neighborhood, you will improve far faster than having to drive to the range everyday...if you even can.

Best of luck and learn something new every time you practice.

  3. try this site they have free lessons you can practice from home

  4. One of the best teachers in the area is Paula Wagasky who works out of the Buffalo Grove Golf Course. (Lake Cook road between Arlington Heights road and Buffalo Grove rd)  You can reach her at (847) 777-6061.  She has been a teaching pro since 1978 and won the LPGA National pro of the year award in 1991.  Private 1/2 hour lesson about $40.
