Golf news: Alfred Dunhill Links Championship betting odds

Alfred Dunhill Links Championship has arrived in Scotland at three different courses; The Old Course in St. Andrews, Fife in Kingsbarns and Carnoustie Golf Club. The championship will start today (7th October,
2010) and will stretch all the way to the 10th of this month.
The event of $ 5000,000 comes every year to the Dunhill Links with the most fascinating element of difficulty. The four- day session takes place on three different layouts and this sets it apart from other tournaments.
However, this time there is yet another key source of fascination and entertainment in Scotland: Nine of the twelve members of the European Ryder Cup team along with their captain have made their way to Scotland to test their nerves and energy level.
The first two questions that arise are: will the players be able to tackle the difficulty and challenge presented to them on the three courses right after the nail biting battle at Celtic Manor? And will they be
ready to take their competitors down after getting drained by five hectic days of Ryder Cup?
The answer to these questions will be retrieved on Sunday after the fourth round. However, before that a question arises as to who will be the winner of the title and which players will fill the first five spots
of the Leaderboard. To answer these queries here is the betting preview of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
Martin Kaymer
The first basic reason for him coming to the top is that he is young and hence more energetic therefore he will be ready to take the hectic challenge.
Despite losing the singles against Dustin Johnson, Martin Kaymer has not lost his courage and morale. In fact, he has a lot to prove after faltering against the player who was dropped out of the playoff at USPGA championship. Johnson
was found grounding his clubs in the sand bunker and hence earned a penalty of two shot. Subsequently, Johnson was struck out of the playoff and he lost the title. However, Johnson settled the quarrel with Kaymer in the singles at Celtic Manor as he defeated
the German and earned his team a point.
Kaymer lost by 6&4 and this proves that he was struggling with his form. Here in Scotland, he is one of the few players who can be worthwhile as he is young and still has the stamina to take over the course. Moreover, he still
has to catch in the race to Dubai and a third straight win on the European Tour will lift his position further. Therefore, in terms of the bird’s eye view, Kaymer has plenty to focus on this week.
The German missed Alfred Dunhill Links Championship last year because of an injury and before that he finished as a runner-up with Ross Fisher. This certifies that the player has good familiarity with the courses, which of course
will go in his favour.
Rory McIlroy
Like Kaymer, he is young and energetic which fulfils the first criteria of the contention. Secondly, he teamed up so well with Graeme McDowell in the foursomes and the four balls that it became extremely hard to differentiate between
the two. According  to the vice captain, Darren Clarke, Rory McIlory has refined  and grown as a player during  the Ryder Cup which signifies that  tackling the triplets of Scotland will not be much of a problem for the 22-year-old.
In the past, McIlory had some trouble at St. Andrews when he stalled in the second round of the Open Championship 2010 but hopefully history won’t repeat itself.
These are the two players who according to Bettor.com will lead the leaderboard of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship on Sunday.
