Golf news - David Smail takes legal action against former girlfriend
The New Zealand number one David Smail has gone to court to launch a case against his ex-girlfriend for threatening his family.
The 40-year-old is a renowned player from New Zealand and he has earned more than $NZ10 million during his 13 years on the Japanese tour. However, he might lose more if his wife files a divorce after listening to the Television and print media news that her husband was having an affair with a Japanese girl. To make things less bad Smail has confessed his affair, and has declared that his relationship with Kurihara got over three weeks back. In respond to this confession Smail’s wife Sheree has forgiven him and has vowed to stand with her husband to save their 25 years of marriage.
However, to deal with all the threatening, the Smails have decided to call a press conference in which they will disclose their side of the story. According to Smail, he tried to finish the affair so many times but Kurihara repeatedly gave threats of killing him, committing suicide and exposing their relationship in front of the Japanese and New Zealand media. On the other side, Sato Kurihara came in front of the press and said that David Smail was the enhanced version of Tiger Woods and was a serial adulterer. She denied the fact the she was sending some sort of threats to the couple. She further added that her ex-boyfriend had promised her of getting married but three weeks back, he backed off from his word and left her to be alone. To make it worse Sato Kurihara sent few objectionable pictures of the couple to news outlets, and she claimed that she will sent around 2000 pictures and a s*x-tape to support her verdict. Nonetheless, the New Zealand number one denies about the huge number of pictures.
“Ok the figure 2000 is kind of big” said the pity-struck Smail who was all in tears when talking to “The Times.” He further said that Kurihara knew about his wife and kids but even then she wanted to get married. He accepted that he did promise her of getting married but that was to avoid her and distract her so that she won’t bother him anymore. The 40-year-old apologized to his friends and family and said that he accepted that he had made a terrible mistake and if he had time on his side he would change things. Smail is ready to take a legal action against his former lover, alleging that she is stalking him.
Moving forward, the Japanese print media is full of spicy stories and intimate pictures of David Smail and Sato Kurihara with taglines like “the three year relationship ends between the player and the girl.” To avoid mess, Smail has urged them that he will only entertain “The Times,” which happens to be his favourite magazine. The pleaded that rest of the media fraternity should leave him alone so that he could deal with the matter in his own way.
Smail is confused about the number of pictures and his illicit relationship with the Japanese girl, as he says that it was couple of months and there were hardly any pictures taken. As for Sato, she was involved with the player for three years and they shared a very strong bond.
To wrap it up, the New Zealand number 1 is being threatened by his former girlfriend Sato Kurihara. Therefore, he has decided to take a legal action against her for her stalking him. So much for the controversy struck players; first it was Tiger Woods, then Colin Montgomerie and now it is David Smail.
