Golf news: Paul Casey and Phil Mickelson one step away from a glorious success
The ace golfer from England Paul Casey is playing brilliantly in the FedEx cup playoffs. The Englishman may not join the European team to participate in the Ryder Cup, but he is in a very strong position to win the FedEx Cup playoffs and a huge amount of
ten million US dollars.
The 33-year-old is playing marvellously well and is in a very powerful position of winning the title and grabbing huge prize money. Paul is currently participating in FedEx playoffs at East Lakes. The beautiful golf course at East Lakes is showing all the
signs of good luck to Casey, as he is not far away to win the Tour Championship and the season's bonus prize. Currently, Casey is sharing the lead with his countryman Luke Donald and Geoff Ogilvy of Australia.
All the three players have performed exceptionally well throughout the event. It is also to be remembered that the trio is leading the table after the first stage of the event and have finished with four under par sixty six. But Casey is the only player
among three who could claim the title of the ongoing playoff golf series. During the event Casey displayed some brilliant shots with his jaw-dropping performance and showed his class like never before. He grabbed three birdies in a row and pushed himself forward
to claim for the title of the event.
His current performance in Atlanta is a proof of his strong determination and capacity. His sound playing form can change the scenario of any game, but it seems that the golf star has still not been able to impress the European team-skipper Colin Montgomerie,
in order to get selected for the Ryder Cup. Despite of losing the chances of participating in the prestigious Ryder Cup, the 33-year-old veteran golfer seems very relaxed and confident. When questioned about his presence in the event, Casey expressed his views
by saying that he is very happy with the way he has performed in Atlanta, and he is not really focusing on the Ryder Cup at the moment.
It is to be remembered that European team's captain Colin Montgomerie had denied Casey's proposal to play in the Ryder Cup. Casey said that he is very well aware of his good playing form and playing techniques and he is not willing to prove his dominance
at any point to Montgomerie, as he has all the rights to select or refuse a player's proposal. Casey said that the FedEx playoffs tour has been an amazing tour for him, and he is feeling much confident and pleasant than before. His remarkable performance has
given him a strong potential boost and motivation for the future events of golf, and he is very well aware of the fact. While talking about his current game the 33-year-old said that he is very motivated, and he is trying his level best to enjoy his game.
Currently Luke Donald also poses a threat to Paul Casey’s glorious victory from but his chances seem very bleak.
On other side of the golfing world the veteran golfer Phil Mickelson is giving his full to clutch the world number seat from Tiger Woods. Phil is performing pretty luminously and is on a very strong position after opening at one under par sixty nine. Now
Mickelson needs a top two-finish to grab the world number one rank from Tiger Woods. While talking about his performance Phil told the media by saying that the event is very tough, and he is trying his level best to perform well. He added that he is very satisfied
with his performance and is feeling confident to grab his desired goals now.
Mickelson is now in a very strong position of being the new world number one golfer, and he is showing no signs of bowing out. On the other hand, the denial of Paul Casey's proposal by the European team captain Colin Montgomerie can give a huge blow to the
European team as golfer's like Casey can turn a game upside down in no time.
