Golf on the rising trend in United Arab Emirates
The popularity of golf is on the rise in the United Arab Emirates, as more than 50,000 rounds have been played in the region in just one month.
This news calls for a massive celebration for all UAE natives and golf lovers. This is the first time in the history of the Middle Eastern region that 50,000 rounds have been staged in a mere one-month period.
All the golf courses were occupied by golf fans and enthusiasts.
Hundreds of people showed up at the Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club, Emirates Golf Club, The Montgomerie Dubai, the Els Club Dubai, Arabian Ranches, Abu Dhabi Golf Club, Al Hamra Golf Club, Jebel Ali Golf Resort & Spa and Jumeirah Golf Estates.
Most of the visitors were golf lovers and players. They kept themselves involved in golf throughout the month, creating a record number of rounds played.
“It is a fantastic achievement for the golf courses in the United Arab Emirates to have hosted over 50,000 rounds for the first time.  The profile of the region as a true golfing destination is growing every year due to the premium opportunities for golfers
that exist, together with the excellent climate for golf especially in the winter months,” Mustafa Al Hashimi, Club Manager at Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club, said.
In 1988, the first step was taken towards golf and the Majlis course at Emirates Golf Club and Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaimah were established to attract golfers from all across the world.
After the establishment of many world class golf courses, the region has become the hottest place to visit, for all the golf lovers.
On the other hand, it has also attracted and promoted tourism in UAE, through the initiatives of hosting famous golfing events, staged by the European Tour.
The most prestigious competition of the UAE is the Race to Dubai. It is organised every year, in the month of December, by the European Tour.
A player, who earns the highest amount in a year, is honoured as the winner of the Race to Dubai. It may be right to say that the UAE is the next hotspot for sports.
