  1. If you mean when one player's ball strikes another player's ball on the green, then the player, whose ball was struck, replaces his ball to it's original position as closely as possible and the player whose ball struck the other ball must play his ball from where it lies.

If you mean a player putting the wrong ball then there are two scenarios. If it's match play, then the player putting the wrong ball loses the hole. If it's stroke play, then the player putting the wrong ball incurs a two stroke penalty and it's owner replaces the ball to it's original position as closely as possible. The player that incurs the penalty then completes the hole with his own ball.

  2. The hitter... Why would the ball's owner be penalized?

  3. depends on the shot. If the ball is on the green while another is PUTTING, and their ball hits a ball then the ball not marked is penalized. If it's a normal shot onto the green, there is no penalty. the ball moved is simply replaced as near the spot.

  4. You mean when your ball hits someone else's ball or you hit someone else's ball by mistake?  If you hit someone else's ball with your ball, there is no penalty, just place the ball where it was on the green.  If you hit someone else's ball thinking it's your ball, it's a 2 stroke penalty.

  5. whoever hit the wrong ball is always penalized...they even changed the rule so that now if you hit the wrong ball out of a hazard its a penalty

  6. noone...if the golf ball moves, the opponent has to play the ball from where it now lies

  7. If both balls are one the green the person who hits the putt is penalized. If the person is off the green and his ball hits another ball on the green there is no penalty.
