whats a math formula that they use to get the putting rankings for the PGA? (the average of greens hit) the normal is 2 but a lot of guys are under 1.800

  1. There is no math formula to get the putting ranking for the PGA.


  2. There is no math formula. The number of putts is just that, those strokes taken on the green cumulative for each round. Divide that number by 18 and you have the average putts per hole. If the player is short of the green by a foot and chips up to within a foot and uses 1 putt  that is the number charged for that hole. So for a day when one has few greens in regulation, his putting stats may be exceedingly low if he is chipping close and as a result has several one putts.
