whats the cheapest way the old course in st andrews. me and a few of my mates are desperate to play the old course this year but its extortionate and seems tied in with staying in local hotels for a few days, we dont want to chance it in the ballot so does anyone have any ideas on how we can get guaranteed tee times for a decent price.

  1. cal the golf pro

  2. you won't  be able to sneak on as there are rangers around different parts of the course .My advice is spend the money, relax and enjoy the experiance with being chucked of course(played it the last two years very good) Also Kings Barn is another great course

  3. Wait till all the old duffers go tae there bed or are too p1shed on GandTs  to notice, and sneak on.,failin that tell them you are a rich Septic thinkin o buyin it an turnin it into a theme park, thatll get theyre oaxters boilin!!!

  4. The Old Course is about 130 pounds this year - a four ball can book online - look at their web site.  But make sure you all have handicap certificates - no certificates, no game.   To be honest, the Jubilee and the New, right next to the Old are both outstanding courses at about half the price.

You can stay in Cupars or St Michaels for about 30-40 pounds for a B &B.

  5. very very slim chance , definatly as a group foursome , all you can do is arrive early. wait for a group that has a individual cancel and hope , you are next up . or walk the couse at dusk . i dont think i could handle the emotions involved to play the course , just to walk it would be enough .

  6. As they say, you have to pay to play.  There is no way around it.  The game of golf began in Scotland so start saving the funds and make a trek across the pond.
