  1. Football is a team sport.  You can dork up and the consistency of your teammates will carry the day.  In golf, if you dork up, there is just you and you have to deal with the consequences of a misstep everytime.

In football, you can be off a little bit in your pass, the receiver can still stretch out and grab it, or you get another shot at it, etc.  In golf, you have to be able to strike the ball precisely in the sweet spot, and accurately send it hundreds of yards,

Bottom Line:  both sports are fun in their own rights, but golf is harder to master.

  2. ALL SPORTS are hard if you are just starting out....  even for a football.  Ask someone who never played football to throw the ball to you.  I bet the ball will be rotating on the air.  Football really depends on the physical attributes of the player....

Golf is hard when you play on the course.  Even if you could hit a 300 yards on the driving range, it means nothing.   You are good  at Golf when you can hit the ball 4 times to get the ball into the hole on Par-4s.  It's all about decisions....

  3. In football, you specialize at one aspect of the game. All you need to do is become very good at running OR tackling OR blocking.

Golf requires a wide assortment of skills: You need to be able to hit a ball long and straight, you need to be able to hit an iron shot with great accuracy to a small green, you need to be able to hit out of sand, you need to be able to hit a pitch or chip shot to get close to the hole, you need to be able to read a green and putt the ball into a 4.25 inch hole in the ground.

None of those skills is simple on their own. It is very difficult to become good at ALL of them.

In golf, every shot counts as '1'. Whether you hit a 300-yard drive or a 3-inch tap-in putt, it still counts as 1 stroke.

A slight error on any shot on any hole can get you into a lot of trouble. It could take 2 (or even 3 or more) extra shots to recover from that one small error.

  4. you can't really compare the two sports, one is a team sport where you cant really play the game unless you have a full team, and the other is more of an individual sport, yea I know the rider cup, bit still golfers play there own game no matter if their on a team or not. Football is a tough sport- dexterity, strength, size, speed, etc. Golf is a really tough sport if your actually trying to reach the standard which is "par". Very tough indeed. being mental tough, dexterous, Strong, agile, etc.very few people reach the standard of par ever. so its a toss up on how you view the sports.

  5. Oh ye it is harder, one example

If your talking bout rugby, well , tell him he has to put a biggish ball , bigger than a golf ball, and all he has to do is push some guys outta the road and put the ball down in an area 10 m by (i forget the width of a football field) , ye in golf tho we gotta put a small ball in a hole thats about 10 cm in diametre

enough said ! lol , good luck mate

  6. Football is a more physically challenging sport, but golf involes mental and physical challenges. There are hundreds of things that can go wrong with a golf swing, but in football you either make the play or you dont.It takes years and years of constant practice to be a good golfer, football takes a lot of practice too,but i think golf is more involved.

  7. If you pratice at football every day you will probably be really good. If you pratice at golf every day you could get worst lol.

  8. golf is hard because you need a lot of patience and accuracy to get the ball to the hole.
