I read that some rangefinders are the same , but in different packaging - like hunter's rangefinders in camoflague and golfer's - but work exactly the same. Does anyone know if the Callaway LR550 and Nikon 550 are the same - just without the extra $100 bucks added on for the Callway name?

  1. About the same

  2. As far as I know, there is no real difference between a rangefinder for golf or for hunting. Some golf scopes go up to 1500 yards, though why you would need to measure that far, I don't know.

I saw a I-On Optics LS101 Series rangefinder at  InTheHoleGolf.com for $159.95, a bit cheaper than the Callaway.

The same site also has a Bushnell Golf Scope for $19.95 which is really cheap for a Bushnell.
