Golf update, Europeans have good first round at Tour Championship

Just as expected, the trio of Luke Donald, Paul Casey and Geoff Ogilvy jumped into a lead on Thursday, in the first round of the Tour championship, which is taking place at the East lake country club.
The bettors had a fair idea that after being dropped out of the Ryder cup, Casey was on fire and he wanted to prove Monty, that he was eligible to be the part of the mega event. Therefore, when he made the public statement of making the cut at the Tour Championship,
which is the final leg of the playoff series, something big was being expected.  Everything went according to the presumption and the world number five posted a four under in the first round of the $10 million bonus saga.
Answering the press, Casey said that, he did not want the money as he had enough but yes he wanted to make a mark at East Lake, which is known for its narrow fairways and huge tees. He further  said in response to a query put forward regarding his motivation
that, he did not need any as he was already full of motivation.
According to media reports, Casey was very aggressive in the entire game and there was not a single moment, when he did not give a break to the curve on his head. Casey, No. 5 in Fedex points, has broken par for the seventh time in nine rounds, delivering
a subliminal message to the captain, who did not consider him good enough.
Moving forward, the next veteran on the list is Luke Donald, a player who made it to the Ryder cup team. Like Casey, he too posted a score of 66 and this was ironic as a lower score was being expected from the player. After all there has to be a difference
between a Ryder Cup member and a non-member. The next leader was a 33-year old Australian, Geoff Ogilvy. He is better known as the 2006 US Open champion where he won by one stroke from American Ryder cup team member, Phil Mickelson, European Ryder cup team
captain, Colin Montgomerie, and another Ryder cup team member, Jim Furyk.
Talking about Jim Furyk, though he was not the part of the trio, he finished in fourth spot, after posting a 67. According to him, he was very happy with his putting because scoring low on a course like this was one big challenge.
Coming to the Americans, who will be seen at the Celtic Manor, Matt Kucher, Phil Mickelson, Dustin Johnson, Jeff Overton and Bubba Watson. Kucher posted a two over and was standing at the 19th spot, Mickelson finished with a 69 to seize the 6th
spot, Johnson was three over on the 20th spot, Overton and Watson finished at the second last spot with a 75.
With only a week left for the Ryder Cup, the Americans have been worn out. Seems like, Monty was right, when he said, that the rest was the essential ingredient for winning the Ryder cup. By looking at the current layout of results, the only implication
which can be drawn at the present moment is that chances of victory for the Americans are very less. The boy who was not given the wild card by Monty is currently in the lead, leave alone the players, who are resting at home right now.
According to experts, if Kucher finishes in the top 10, he will knock down half of the 30- player field. However, if he fails it will be vice-versa. Although, the American started out fine, he did not have a single birdie till the 14th hole. To
break this circuit, he aced the 15th but bogeyed the rest of the four holes. True, the course is a one big challenge but he should have realized that it had very firm and fast greens, until a player does not finds a fairway, he is wandering into
trouble.
