Golf Update: Final round highlights of Dubai World Championship 2010
This Sunday marked an end to the European
tour. Robert Karlsson, picked up an eagle and five birdies, to push Ian Poulter into a play-off. What started as a one-man-show, ended with a defeat for Poulter, victory for Karlsson and Europe’s number one title for Martin Kaymer.
Saturday ended with Ian Poulter in the lead and predictions were, that the Englishman would pursue his second title with a win, but a bogey on the third cost him a
play-off and a defeat. On the other hand, Karlsson was three strokes behind the leader and was least expected to stand on the winner’s podium. However, the least expected happened and Karlsson won, but he was not the only champion. Martin Kaymer, parred the
final round, to take the crown of Europe’s number one. The German was in the lead in the Race to Dubai, but his performance was devastating in the entire tournament. Moreover, Graeme Mc Dowell and Lee Westwood could not perform any better, which gave the 25-year-old
a chance to bid high.
Graeme Mc Dowell started out terribly, but picked up pace and

ended the $7500, 000 reward event, with five birdies. He shared the spot with his rival Martin Kaymer, second round leader Peter Ross, YE Yang and Louis Oosthuizen. Ross smashed the course lowest in the second round with a 64, but

failed to match the swings in the preceding rounds. He made a 71 in the third round and 76 in the final, which resulted in him falling to the 13th
place.
A similar game was played by the conqueror of Old Course, Scotland. Louis Oosthuizen, managed seven birdies in the second round, but could not produce the same score
again. The South African missed the Grand Slam in Bermuda and the last chance to end the year with a victory. Additionally, the winner of the Grand Slam could not do any better. Ernie Els hardly showed his magical drives on the par-7600 course and walked the
last green; with a share in 28th spot. Further below was the Ryder Cup squad. Padraig Harrington led the champions, although he was the weakest player in the team.

Pod, five-birdied the last eighteen holes and captured a share in 39th
place. One stroke below him was, Edoardo Molinari. The Italian hardly kept the score in the realms of par and carded 75-73-69-73 in the four-day session. Meanwhile, his younger sibling, Francesco Molinari performed
considerably well and vaulted his name on the sixth spot. Miguel Angel Jimenez gave the worst performance and his name was listed in the bottom most corner of the leader board.
The highest score, which is considered terrible in Golf, was

carded by Richard Green. The Englishman painted blue and black spots on his scorecard, wrapping the last tournament on the European tour, with a 78. Whereas, the lowest score of the day was produced by Charl Schwartzel, who feasted on nine birdies and score
of 66. The South African picked up an eagle

in the first round, but could match the scores made by the leaders. Ian Poulter did a terrific job and proved himself as a well-deserved candidate for the world number one rank. The year ended for him with a single victory on the European tour, but from next
year onwards, the veteran will be teeing-off in

America. The Englishman has chosen U.S PGA over the European tour, as per the requirements of the PGA tour.
Thses are the results, of the final round of Dubai World

Championship, which ended on Sunday, in Jumeirah Golf Estate, Dubai. The award ceremony was lead by Chairman Dubai Culture and Art Authority, Sheikh Majid Bin Mohammad Rashid Al Makhtoum.
