Golf update: The Indian's trek for the 6 million in Singapore
The Barclays Singapore Open is a $ 6 million event being held in Singapore till the 14th of this month and includes more than 5 Indian golfers competing for the win. The R3 leaderboard is currently ruled by Ian Poulter
who is standing at the 12th hole with a minus 4 and is being followed by Adam Scott with a minus 1.
Coming over to the Indian golfers, Jeev Milkha Singh played the first round of the Open after carding an impressive 64 with a seven under. His score tied him at the seventh place which took place prior to darkness enveloping the
field on Friday.
Mikha Singh is the winner of the 2008 Singapore Open and collected a total of 8 birdies. The birdies however were also accompanied with only 1 bogey. The Indian golfer collected a total of 134 strokes which turned out to be an
8 under for a 2 day total.
Other than Mikha Singh, Rahil Gangjee was seen tied at the 26th place after he carded his score of 67 with a 4 under par. At the 40th place, Digvijay Singh shared the position with another Indian Gaganjeet
Bhullar. The former carded a 69 with a 2 under par while the later mentioned golfer recorded a 68 with a 3 under par.
The 55th place was held by Shiv Kapur who labelled the Serapong course to be much more difficult than the Tanjong GC. He said that the GC makes it difficult for the golfers to card lower scores as he carded a 68 for
the position attained.
Mikha Singh also agrees with Kapur’s statement and said that he finds the golf course rather tough. He carded a 70 on the Thursday’s play and a 65 on Friday. He is currently standing at T35 who has played a plus 3.
According to his scorecard, the third round by the thirty eight year old collected 2 birdies at hole number two and four whereas 6 bogeys at hole number 3,5,7,8,13 and 14. So Singh has currently grabbed a minus 4 in total whereas
a minus 1 at the first round, followed by a minus 7 and an in progress plus 4.
Shiv Kapur finished at par on the first round of the Barclays Singapore Open and then ended his second round with a minus three on Friday. Today’s play witnessed the twenty eight year old card a plus one after collecting 4 bogeys
at hole number 4,8,12 and 15 and then three birdies from the first two and the last 18th hole.
