Golf's Frys.com Open betting odds (part 1)
Frys.com Open is the latest buzz and it is taking place at the Corde Valle Golf Club starting from 14th October, 2010.
The event carrying a purse of $5 million will kick off tomorrow on a beautiful, majestic course in California. Before the final results arrive, here are the betting odds of who will take the top most spot on the leader board.
Rickie Fowler
He was the shining star of the United States Ryder Cup team. With long brown hair running down his cheeks, this 21-year –old, was seen fighting the weather conditions in Wales. If he managed to save the team a week back then it won’t be
difficult for him to save his face on the par-71 course.
Fowler, who birdied the last four holes to secure a half point for his team is quite familiar with the event, but a complete stranger to the course. Apart from, his morale being high, he is in the perfect form to conquer the course. Last year, he finished
second in the same event, when it was staged in Arizona.
Therefore, chances are high for his success. Secondly, the venue is new for the US Tour and that takes away the edge experienced professionals have over les experienced players. This signifies that Fowler will be on the same level as other veterans.
Cordevalle has been designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr, the same man, who designed the Celtic Manor. This means if Fowler tackled the terrible, challenging course in wet conditions, then Cordevalle won’t be a problem.
Lastly, California is his home town, which means screaming fans will be welcoming the player boosting his morale and spirit on the highest possible levels. Moreover, the West Coast of California has always been the most likely venue for Fowler to score
his breakthrough victory and against this average field in his native State, he has a golden opportunity.
Pat Perez
Cordevalle is a resort course with pleasant weather, ideal for low scoring. With the word low scores, one man jumps right in, Pat Perez. The player is an expert at easy courses and this can be proved with his terrific rounds of 60 and 61 in the Bob Hope
Classic.
That was the debut victory for the player on the US Tour in California. Like Fowler, Perez has an edge of being back in his home town. Therefore, his chances to win cannot be ignored.
The current season has been a disappointment for the Californian. Perez lost the championship at Bermuda Dunes County Club and ever since he has not been able to come out of that bunker shock at the seventh tee. Pat Perez does not have to worry about any
bunker, or desert rain here. The 37-year-old has been struggling throughout the summer and it paid off in four starts when he was tied ninth at The Greenbrier Classic. Moreover, he carded a score of 68-70-67-69 last week at McGladrey Classic, which denotes
that the player is ready to kick some rust off.
As for his current stats, he has a record of 80% green hits in regulation, which symbolizes that Pat Perez is ready to take the charge off the field.
Arjun Atwal
He finished third in the McGladrey Classic, which means his clubs are still hot. The Indian holds a victory in the current season and he eyeing his second. Like Pat Perez, Arjun Atwal comes handy on easy courses. Therefore, chances are that he will start
a birdie fiesta on the course and wrap it as well.
This was the first half of the betting preview of the Frys.com Open, which will be taking place tomorrow (14th October, 2010). It will stretch all the way to the 17th of this month. The event is not a regular star studded field, but it will be
an exceptional experience for the players and spectators.
