Golf’s Frys.com Open betting odds (part 2)
For the ones who have read the first half of the betting odds for the Frys.com Open, here is the second half.
Scott Piercy
The third man, who according to the bettors will take the top spot of the leader board, will be Scott Piercy. The player is in good form and it is significant from his first play-off event, The Barclays, that, he can win.
Piercy will take a significant spot here at Corde Valle Golf Club and it is evident from his statement, "I've been kind of looking at it as like a two-part year. The first part until about six weeks ago, and then the last six weeks for the rest of the year
I changed coaches, I changed caddies. I got a new Titleist driver, new Titleist ball that I really like. And my ball-striking has been great. And it's been a tale of two years. So I'm really excited that I'm actually getting to play. Hopefully I can play two
or three or four, all the playoff events and keep this little run kind of going".
Despite all the changes, no promising result showed up in the playoff event as he missed the cut despite an opening round of 67. However, he took four-top-25s in his last six events so predictions are that he's staging a good start in the second half of
the season.
Going into the past, in October, 2009, Piercy was the three- round leader at Turning Stone and at the Justin Timberlake event in Las Vegas. His start was superb, but the way he wrapped the final day both times was a disaster. He repeated the trend in the
recent Wyndham Championship where he fell from second to eighth spot in the last round. However, to break the chain, Piercy shot a 68 in the last round and proved to the critics that he could handle the pressure.
Apart from that, he won twice on the Nationwide Tour, which took place here in California. Moreover, Scott Piercy went to a college in San Diego, which means the player has a fair chance to win.
Jeff Quinney
He is standing at the 140th spot on the Money List and he requires a US tour card. Therefore, he will fight for it.
If one goes into his past record, Jeff Quinney was ranked as the fourth in Canada while his last three ratings demonstrated better form, with figures of 34-29-9.
To add sugar to his form, West Course is the favourite venue for the player. The reason behind this likeness is his excellent finishes in all the California events. Moreover, Quinney is standing at the top of all the records in putting stats in his last
two events at the US tour.
Michael Allen
The last player on the list is Michael Allen, the same golfer who finished in the second place at two champion tour events.
However, similar superb finishes were also witnessed on the US Tour event, the Viking Classic, which took place only two weeks back. With such a strong back ground, who can neglect Michael Allen in the betting odds?
Allen is yet another player, who hails from California, which means, along with Rickie Fowler, he too will be the blue eyed boy for the crowd, even if he’s fifty-one years old. Allen has been seen rolling in putts from everywhere too.
This is it for the betting preview of the Frys.com Open, which is going to kick off tomorrow at Corde Valle Golf Club. The event is carrying a purse of five million and out of this grand total, the winner will get a fair share of $300,000. Watch this space
to find out who wins the cold hard cash.
